Sorry that I haven't been around that much in the past few weeks, It has been really interesting for me as of late. First I started off with getting the flu 2 weeks ago. That monday I was originally going to call out sick, but then my supervisor called me and told me he wouldn't be in. Since I didn't know if any of the other senior people would be out I figured I should drag myself in. Once I got in our boss came to me and said that she needed to talk to me. I couldn't help but thinking that it was the last thing i needed... lol When she pulled me aside, she started off "We hope that you'll say Yes...." That put my mind at ease because I knew that the next part of the phrase wasn't going to be "But will you clean out your desk and leave your badge on the way out"... lol. I found out that they were promoting me. So I managed to get a new position with more things to do, and a nice pay raise as well :D So the past 2 weeks have been busy with me getting ready for the new job. Also for the one week fighting the flu. Plus the rescheduling of the Dr. appointments, the running around to get things done for myself.... I kept myself quite busy. The next Interesting thing for me was last tuesday night. We got snow during the day. On the way home at night (I work until 11pm), the roads were covered, and it was still snowing. I decided that I wanted to stop and get a snack at a convenience store down here. Unfortunately my car wanted to go straight home. I hit the brakes and slid on some ice. I didn't have enough distance to get control back, so I hit the curb, went up it, and flattened a roadsign. I swear that I wasn't driving too fast for conditions... Unfortunately the laws of physics begged to differ, and we can see who won that arguement... lol. Once the car was towed to the shop and they pulled it apart, the found that I broke the lower control arm, pulled the axle out, shattered the bumper cover, damaged the fender, did in the bumper cross brace, and probably a bunch of other stuff. It is fixable, but still a pain to have to have that happen. As for me, Nothing was hurt but my ego...lol. Fortunately I have insurance, and it will pay to fix my car, plus pay for a rental car. The rental car they had for me is a 2007 Dodge Nitro (that had only 41 miles on it when they gave it to me). So I have a good car to drive around in. On Friday Connie went to the doctor, and I was able to go along. So all in all, it's been really interesting to be me the past few weeks. Hopefully things will be a little less exciting I could use the break... lol

Congratulations on the promotion Brian!! That is awesome! :cheer:

We were driving one time with barely any snow on the ground and were driving really really slow, maybe even too slow for conditions . But anyway we slid all around and almost went off a cliff.

Wow, already 31 weeks along! Not too much longer to go now Brian!

Thanks Kari :) It really doesn't take much in the ice and snow to lose traction. Once that happens you need good luck or a long distance (probably even both) to be able to get things back under control. I'm glad that there weren't any cliffs around for me to go off though :) You're right Kari, there's not too much longer to go. I really can't wait :) I'm looking forward to the sonogram. I'm not sure when that will be scheduled for.... but hopefully soon. I will probably end up finding out, but I don't thing that she wants to. I know that it won't be a problem for me not to tell her... so i think that's the plan for now. We'll see how it goes :)

Edited to add: I'm off to bed now. I have to be in early tomorrow... I have to be in at the crack of noon... lol

Thanks Everyone. I am really looking forward to the baby being born. The latest on the sonogram is that it is scheduled for next thursday. I'm really looking forward to seeing the baby. I don't know if I'll find out the gender yet. That kind of depends on what Connie wants. I was originally planning to find out, but not tell her. She was okay with that at first, and now she said she would find out if I wanted to. I'm not sure i want to ruin it for her since she said she didn't want to know before.
I know what you mean about hte snow being scary to drive in. We have a storm that is supposed to be rolling through tonight. I don't know what will happen, but if it's enough snow, I think i will stay home. With my new job, I have that option... lol

She might have really changed her mind. When I was pregnant, at first I didn't want to know but eventually changed my mind. :)

I don't know if that's the case or not... She never found out with her first child.... so I just want to make sure that she's not doing it just for me and would regret it and get pissed at me later

WOW!!! Brian congratulations! That can't hurt with an addition to the family on the way!

I am so glad you weren't hurt. Goodness... "things" are dispensable; human life is not. God Bless.

Just want to mention that I love to read your posts. You are a good story teller. I'm terrible conveying my thoughts in words. I consider it a real gift.

Lin,
You're right about things being replacable. I can think of ways that things could have been so much worse, thankfully they werent. I'm a little griped about the inconvenience... but that's not major... besides, I also have a rental car to get back and forth to work... so all in all... things are working out ok

Congratulations on your promotion!
And I laughed at you having to be in at "the crack of noon"
As a college student I can totally relate, lol...
When I have to wake up for my 10 am I can barely function.

Lin,
We just got ice out of this last storm. I'll post a picture of the big ol' pine trees in my yard if they came out right
