My husband, dad, and uncle went hunting and while out they got 2 jack rabbits. They gave them to me (to clean, joy) for the Audrey and my sharpei. Can they eat it raw? I know they can have rabbit but I don't know what kind. Thanks guys!
I seem to recall there is a problem with feeding wild rabbit - not sure if it is correct or old wives tale. Perhaps worms? I know that if I were to consider it, I would probably freeze it for some time to kill off anything while I was doing research on feeding it.
I do feed domestically raised rabbit...my dogs love it.
Ok great thanks! I posted on another forum and it said freeze for 2 weeks, so I'll do that. I hope my dogs like it. I was really hoping I could feed it because it was brought to me unexpected and so I didn't have time to research before they hunted, and I would hate for the bunnies to have died for nothing :/ but this is good news that they can have it.
Brodysmom, do you do anything to prep the ears or just freeze, thaw, feed?
