James Wellbeloved & Nature's Diet

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum (will introduce myself in the newbie corner in a bit) - and have a question about the above brands.

What would 55g of JWB be in cups?

and

What would 180g of Natures Diet be in cups?

I'm in the process of switching my Chihuahua onto these brands, as he is the fussiest of the fussiest and will not eat anything else. Luckily for me I've found 2 good quality brands he actually likes. Same for my other dog (a griffon bruxellois).

At the moment I'm gradually mixing in JWB to their Royal Canin Sensible and it's going very well.

Any help much appreciated

Keep up what you're doing. I never heard of JWB food! Sue
James Wellbeloved is a high quality, non-allergen, wheat, gluten, beef, pork, dairy and egg free dog/cat food - widely available in the UK.

Funnily enough also the ONLY dry food my chihuahua will eat.
I cannot seem to find any information on Nature's Diet but James Wellbeloved seems a 3 out of 6 star food. Royal Canin is a 2 star out of 6 star food. Too bad he is a fussy eater since switching him to a better food would be better for his health. Here are links:

I would search for a grams to cups converter on google or yahoo. That should help with the conversion.
I usually measure out the amount I need on the scales and find a cup/container that holds just that amount in the cupboard and keep that cup in the tub of food..
Hi all,

What would 180g of Natures Diet be in cups?
There is 390grm in a packet of Naturediet - so 180grm is a little under half a packet :D

( I feed my pugs Naturediet :coolwink: )
Thanks - yes that's what I was thinking. However it seems like a lot for my little chihuahua! But I think that's the correct amount according to the guidelines.

I'm better off feeding him a little less than that, or he'll turn into a little pork chop!
I have fed two of my chihuahuas on naturediet, they got 1/3 of a packet each per day.
( they are both adult dogs weighing 2kg each)
Hi Cream Chi's. Did you feed that amount in one meal, or divided into 2 (or more) meals? And was that ALL you fed, or did you feed dry biscuits too?

I feed mine mornings and evenings.
Hi, I feed all my adult dogs (pugs and chi's) 3 times a day when they are over six months old (for life) ...

Re Naturediet, I feed Naturediet on it's every day. Twice a week they get fresh tripe for breakfast. I give them all a probiotic supplement 3 times a week & flexadin joint supplement every day. I don't give any of my dogs dry food/kibble.

Thanks Sara - very useful. Also interesting that you feed them wet food only. Is there a particular reason for it?

Reason I ask is because my 6 year old boy had 6 teeth pulled out last year as they were loose. (result of poor diet in his previous home - he was apparently fed crisps and sausages :( ) and I was thinking maybe he's better off on a wet diet only because of lack of teeth. Then I thought that maybe he isn't - and that the dry food will help him keep the remaining teeth healthy.

In two minds about it - any input appreciated :)

Afternoon Helena,
I am not a fan of dry food - many reasons (mainly as I'm a worry guts lol)
I have pugs and they gag on dry food even if it's soaked, they eat REALLY fast. Also one morning I had a dog sick up (at 6am) she had had her last meal at 6pm and it was just soaked dry food didn't seem to have been digested at all! I also have an older dog with slight kidney problems so I like to keep him on wet food too.

As for teeth they get deer antlers & beef muscles .

(Sorry for rushed reply i'm meant to be working hehe )
Have you tried the James wellbeloved 'cereal free' range of food?
