Well I was leaving the apt and there were three kids chasing this little guy and hitting him with sticks. He ran under my car to hide and I couldn't get hold of the kids fast enough. I was more worried that the little guy was hurt and might take off and be lost AND hurt!! Well I managed to get him out from under the car and to the vet to get scaned for a chip (there was none) and checked over. He was very stinky and dirty. He has a hole through his upper jaw on the left that is healed but you can see though it. He is also missing most of his teeth on the left side with a lot of scars on his gums and mouth. :foxes15: WHY HOW WHO can do this to an animal!!!

Just after finding him he was snuggled up happy

We have a hard time containing the kisser!!

Here is the hole that is healed in his jaw.

That would cause the round hole in the upper jaw, right under her thumb?
A wry bite can look different depending on the dog. The shape of the jaw looks normal considering he did not grow teeth there. The upper canine tooth is missing, which is what may cause it to appear concave but I am just about positive that bite is not caused by injury. I have seen many like it unfortunately in poorly bred dogs.

He may have cracked the canine and had to have it removed but it didn't heal properly, thus the hole, but the bite would be wry whether the tooth was there or not.

If a dog that size received an extensive enough blow to damage a canine tooth they would honestly not have survived.

Thanks for the info everyone. We are keeping him. He's very shy but doing well. He gets excited for walks now. We just have to get him eating dog food! The stinker wants garbage or people food and that's it.

Sorry about the mistake it sure looked like a hole you can see right through it!!

Poor little guy. Reminds me of a tiny cockatoo I rescued a long time ago. She was TINY!!!! 3 months old and maybe a pound. She had a dislocated elbow, severe parasite infection, was anorexic, refused to eat. Came from a puppy mill-- was covered in its own urine and scat. Got her to the vet and they did extensive testing... she needed her leg amputated because the injury was so old and it was healed that way.
Very sad when dogs are poorly bred or abused :(

If I ever caught my kids chasing and hitting a dog with a stick.....well, they would NOT be happy kids. But I do have to say that the little guy looks in pretty good shape weight wise. I don't think he's been on the street very long. If you decide to put up flyers and anyone answers, I'd be sure to tell the owners what happened. He shouldn't be out running around on his own but maybe he slipped out. It may have not been the owner's kids that were chasing him either. Some kids are just idiots. If you decide to keep him, congrats on the new addition and welcome to the forum.

All proper routes were notified for finding him and no one has come to collect him. His weight was not too bad but he is SUCH the little garbage eater! We will be keeping him. We are having to get him to eat dry food and maybe it's caue of his tooth/jaw issues. We are now mixing with canned food but he's not too crazy bout any food unless we are eating it or it's garbage.
