Guinness has started eating kitty poo. I know that Shadow, my parent's dog has always eaten it. Are there anyone else's dogs who are raciously tempted by that kitty poo - and should I be worried?

We put the litter box in a room with a baby gate at the door so Cooper can't help himself anymore.

That's what my daughter did also to stop her dog from eating it. The cats pay no attention to the baby gate but it keeps the dogs out of the litter box. It can't be good for the dogs even if it isn't actively harmful.

How do the cats get to the litter box? Do they just jump right over?

Oh ya, the cat just hops over the gate. Cooper can't jump that high, but cats can jump probably twice that high - if not higher.

Yes, they are quite disgusting sometime! Cooper love to go to my bf parents farm - there is cow poo everywhere! It's like a kid going to a free candystore!! He'll be running along and while running he'll dip his head and grab a piece of cow patty and eat it on the go. Talk about fast food! ukeright: ukeright:

I don't have cats but Gadget used to eat his poo. I bought some poo eater stopper and put it inhis food 2 times and he hasn't ate any since and that was about a month ago or so....

When we first got Zeus, he would go in the cat box and have a feast, but then I moved the litter box in an unused bathroom with a baby gate and that fixed everything. I even put the cat food in the bathroom so Zeus wouldn't munch on that either. Since we've moved to VA, I have no baby gates up and Zeus has shown zero interest in the litter box.. thank goodness!

You aren't changing the kitty litter are you? being pregnant it is not good for you or the baby.

I am changing the cat boxes. I have however been tested for toxoplasmosis (standard test if you're pregnant and have cats) and it was negative with this pregnancy as well as my first child. I do use extra caution though. I scoop the boxes once a day, don't inhale, then thoroughly wash my hands with antibacterial soap and hot water. I wish my husband would do the cat boxes, but I'm lucky that he tolerates the cats like his does.

I just worry about pregnant woman and cat bozes beause I had a friend that the test was postive and she ended up getting really sick,.. thank god the baby was ok...

I'm glad you got the test done and it was negative andyou are using precaution.

You're cracking me up. :lol: Lily never eats poop, either hers or anyone else's. But she does love to roll in horse poops. :lol:

ForBid is usually given to the dog (by putting it on their food) to prevent them from eating their own poop. I really don't know if cats can eat it to prevent a dog from eating cat poop. Someone else may have the answer to that. I do know that it can be bought online at www.drsfostersmith.com.
