Maxx eats any bug dead or alive hes 6 months old how do I stop him

When he lunges to pounce or eat the bug, use a verbal command such as uh uh, avoid using naughty, or bad, as this can take too long to say, and you only have about 2 seconds in the dog's memory to stop the behavior, Be strict, but not physical, be firm, but don't yell.
