Hi folks,

If anyone in the UK is looking for a male LC puppy just now, I just saw this ad on loot.co.uk.

They're not KC reg'd but the price is pretty good at £550.
They look 100% pedigree to me, i'd love one of these little guys if I was wanting a LC. :)

there's also a really nice looking smoothcoat cream boy on epupz at the moment, but he's £1200
He's really handsome.
....and some really cute looking black and tans, 2 boys 1 female, £650 non KC, but parents are KC. That's epupz, the ad is 9 days old.
What does non KC really mean? You have to explain, as I'm not from UK.......
Okay, perhaps I said it wrong..... I know what KC stands for, what I ment was, what does it mean if they say non KC registred.......
It means they aren't registered with the Kennel Club, I think the US equivelant is AKC??

In the Uk, it's quite hard to find a Chi with KC Registration, unless you're willing to pay near £1000. Don't know why it's so expensive. Lexi's not KC reg'd but I didn't buy her with the intention of doing serious showing or breeding so it's not important to me. She does have both her parents 5-Generation Pedigree Papers, so you can see that she is 100% Chi.

I think that's important for breeders to do, if they aren't going to register the puppies with the kennel club, they should at least give you copies of the 5-Generation Pedigree papers, so you can see they're pedigree. :)
Sorry! I just assumed you were from the US

Okay, thank you  . Your Chi is lovely, he looks so cute :) .
No, I'm not from US, I'm from Europe and our dogs are registered with FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale). Basically all of our pedigrees are registered with FCI. Or else it's no point of having a pedigree at all. If it's not registered, it means anyone can write anything they want and without being registered with an official club, who's going to know if everything on the paper is true.
From what I can understand non KC Chis are not really breedable. They are sold as pets only. Because if someone was in fact breeding them, how will you know the puppy is free of all hereditary diseases? Because the point of registering dogs with international clubs is actually controlling the quality of dogs that are going to be used for reproduction. :) I myself would always buy a registered puppy(not only, because I'd be showing my dog), because I'd be completely sure that the breeder I bought it from is in it for improving the breed and he actually invested a lot of time and money in them.
As for the price in UK...... Mr. Foote told me that he always used to sold his puppies for 400-500 GBP and he's one of the best breeders not only in UK, but in Europe itself. Many of his dogs are Champions and sold to great breeders and show enthusiasts around the world. So, if you're really looking hard and do your homework you'll be able to get a great show quality for a "normal" price  .....

Thanks, I love her to bits, I wouldn't trade her for a KC pup now, no way!

I totally agree with you, for me though KC was not important as I'll never ever breed from her or do serious showing. I think there are a lot of people who will want a Chihuahua puppy for the same reason as me, so I thought i'd help by posting the ads :)

If I was ever going to breed though, i'd make sure I got a KC registered puppy. I don't really think it's a great idea to breed just any dogs. I love all animals but when it comes to the pedigree's the breeders should be going for at least the breed standard description.

Who is Mr Foote? Can you PM me some more information about him please??

Hes a well known breeder Iona, his number is amongst the breedersI posted here http://www.chihuahua-people.com/viewtopic.php?t=11054 I beleive I did call him when searching for my smooth black and tan but he only had a cream long boy at the time, i think it was him :)
I emailed him to tell him how beautiful his dogs are, they really are exceptional. I haven't had a look through the list in ages, so I probably just forgot! The name rung a bell though, thanks
welcome

Have you heard anything on that lady with the 2 smoothie (i no I have an addiction to calling them smoothies  ) cream girls lol?
haha, smoothies that's cute!

no nothing yet, i just know she has my number and said she'd call me when they're born. I've never even met the lady but my friend says she's very keen to meet me, so fingers crossed it won't be long :)

awww thats great news. I need to get out of my *smoothie* habit else bad breeders will be using that as slang and it'll be worst than the so called *teacup* boom! Smoothies will be better than smoothcoats lol just with no difference  I must get out of that habit seriously lol
