im having a really hard time again with minnies housebreaking again. I take her out often to poop and pee but she will still poop all over the house like she did today. i can tell her till im blue in the face but she wont listen.im STILL having a problem getting her to eat properly.I think she needs a dog behaviorist.

Boop (7 mos), too. I try to remember to take her out frequently, but it's not frequently enough on some days. And it's poop, not pee, that's the problem. I'd like to find a kitchen timer gadget that runs for about 3 hours to help me remember. We're setting records here for rainiest month which doesn't help at all.

BTW, talking won't do any good. They don't speak human.

Oh, and gate most rooms off so you'll have a better chance of catching her in the act. I need more gates. I DON'T want to go back to crate training/leashing her to me, but I might have to.

Some of these pups just take so long to potty train. My first chi uses a litter box and was trained in about 6 months I think, but my second chi took about a year!! And she will only use the pee pads. We were quite diligent with both of them. Make sure that you make a big fuss and give them a treat when they do the right thing. Please just have patience and don't get too upset, thank goodness their poop is small, lol.

Crating her or leashing her when you can't absolutely watch her (to see her signs of "I want to go"), usually works. You have to double up on that for a couple of weeks...really, really watch (and gate off everything), then catch her being good with happy dances and food...you can get her back on track.

I also don't free-feed until my dogs are housebroken (well, even then I don't, but if they want food, I give it to them). If you control when/what's going in, you can predict the pooping time a whole lot easier. I keep Dolly's food up high so the big dogs can't get it, but she knows where it is and looks up at it and whines when she wants to eat, so I don't worry about her not getting enough.

Good luck!

What dollys Grandma said.....:D
Feed on schedule, potty on schedule, crate or leash other than that.
If she doesn't like her food, remove it till next feeding, if you know she liked some food, but is now being picky, take it away, and reoffer next meal, she'll eat when she knows it's all there is-
She doesn't need a behaviorist... So...in dog language, let her know that pooping in the house is BAD and pooping out side is GOOD. With my dogs, treats and clicks did the trick, along with a little old fashioned scolding when it was necessary.
For instance, I know they don't speak human, but they understand when you're UNHAPPY,if it's done in a context they can get. Like every time it happens in the house, show her, loudly show your disgust, let her know you DON'T LIKE iT...(no hitting, ever) take her out , when she does even the merest potty , praise praise, treats, etc. Do this every time,on a schedule, for a few weeks, and she should "understand your language".
Even if you find it later, your dog knows it's hers. Until you let her know, clearly and specificaly that her "gifts" are unappreciated, she doesn't really "get" that to you, inside pooping is GROSS.

Oh, and one more thing...I forgot....be sure to clean up her accidents with an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle. Just regular cleaning products won't work, because remember...she can smell where she went before, and to her, that signals "oh, this is a potty". This is really, really important. If she has gone all over the house, you might want to get the carpet cleaned (but tell them for pet odors/stains--they have the same cleaners). Likely, she has gone to the same spots though--that's the doggy way!

Good luck. It really is a matter of consistency and watching them like a hawk at first. Yes, scold (just be unhappy) when they mess up, but praise like a crazy woman when they perform outside!
