Ive taken Missy out for a walk 3 times now round this big field, shes ok for 10 minutes then jumps up and frantically cries! No one else can calm her either she just wants me to hold her, then shes happy to watch the other dogs play!! If its windy she will cry all the way round inside my jacket, I bought her a coat but she hates it. Will she eventually walk round happily or do chihuahuas not like to walk much?
Thanks this is her if you look closely jumping up whilst im having this pic taken!!

Was it a cold day? From the photo it looks like it may have been cold and a breeze blowing. She may have wanted to be held so she could be warm. I know Bean doesn't like it when it's windy or cold. It think the wind bothers his ears.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I love the photo btw. England, is it? I always wanted to visit England. I have friends from there and love them dearly. They are so comical. She was teaching me cockney (sp).

She looks so adorable jumping up hehe.

I know a lot of chi's on here go for pretty long walks. Carl and I walk around the neighborhood almost daily. I never had a problem with him not moving or anything when we go for walks. The first walk we went on went very smoothly, except he liked to race back and forth in front of me so I kept tripping over him

I agree. It might have been that she was just cold. You could probably get her a little coat or a sweater or something like that, then take her out :). I used to do that with Lina when she was a baby. She walked alot better with something on to keep her warmer, but occationally she'd get tired or something and want me to carry her for a little while.

My Yoshi was like that for a long time and always wanted to be held (he is so spoiled , LOL) he eventually started walking when I made him and he loves to play with the other dogs but even at 9 months if he is unsure about something or strangers come around he wants momma!

Hi,
Thanks for the advice,Missy is about 15 weeks old. yes it is Hampshire in England. Missy will play for about 10 minutes then cry and cry to be picked up and I cant help it I always pick her up coz I hate the thought of her being upset! I tried putting a hoody on her but she'll just slump on the ground and not get up! She follows mw like a lost sheep its so cute! I got my sister to hold her and I ran up the field yesterday, she soon ran then! The following does get a bit much though, I cant have a bath without her crying at the side! Sometimes I hold her 4 a minute in the bath to stop her crying!!
This is her waiting to be picked up, for a change!

if the outside crying is a weather dependent thing, then that's understandable. But if your chi is crying all the time if you're just a little further away from them, beware; you don't want a dog that gets separation anxiety when you're away from them, because realistically it's impossible to be with your dog 24/7. Is this just on occasion or have you noticed it increasing?

She is so friggin' cute! Loves her! :D

Don't be embarassed about letting her in the tub with you, Boss and Lina both do that to me. I've gone so far a to give them a bath while I'm in there. Sounds stupid but, I've done it lol. Once when it was just Lina, I was taking a bath and talking to her while she watched me . She actually jumped right in the tub with me! She did it with my boyfriends daughter too. I heard, "Mommy! Lina's in the tub!" and when I went in there, here she was, lookin' up at me like, "What mom?"

No, its not a new thing her crying (just read your post sorry)
She has gotten worse though. I never leave her on her own I know it was a dumb thing to do, now she goes crazy if I even put my shoes on.
I will try and leave her for longer and longer over a few weeks maybe that will help
