Got some more decent pictures of Jack, he's opening up and chewing on some of the bones and pig ear strips I got got them. And I got a few pics of Jack and Venus chewing on their treats next to each other on the bed. This is the best they've gotten along yet so I'm super excited to see Venus tolerating him in her "chewing area."

Thank you so much Mandy. I'm really glad too. I was worried for a bit yesterday that this was going to take a long time. But today they seem to be getting along pretty well. I think Venus is realizing that he's here to stay.

How long did it take for them to stop snapping at each other? Venus seems ok, but then Jack will move and she'll freak out, like "wait, where do you think you're going now..."

Great pics! Looks like Jack is settling in perfectly! He is handsome. I haven't seen Venus for awhile - she looks great! I hope they continue to get along.

It's good that Jack is backing down from Venus. That will establish her as alpha. Be sure and reinforce that in order to prevent further aggression from her..... feed her first. Cuddle her first. Pick her up first. Let her out first. Give her treats before him. I know that's hard to do as he's the new baby! But if you mess up the pack order, you will cause her to feel aggressive and to take it out on him.

Thanks for the tips! It's hard, but Jer's been telling me that too. She gets love first when we come home and everything. Because she was our baby FIRST. So she's got our priority he says. Or something like that. He's sleeping on my lap right now, and Venus is staring at him lol. They're so funny.

Thanks, his coat is a bit longer than Venus'. A lot thicker too, maybe he has an undercoat?

The lady I got him from has him on Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Puppy formula. I want to change him over to Wellness Puppy, but he seems to be doing so well, I don't know if I should make a change.

Oh girl, he's so cute. Go ahead and start switching him over. He'll do great on Wellness. Just mix it a bit for a few days and then do the switch-a-roo. Jack is so handsome. Venus looks like she's willing to tolerate him but within a week or two, she won't know what she did without him. She looks so pretty too, by the way. Great choice Samantha. Two gorgeous pups!!!

Thanks for those words of encouragement. I don't feel so worried now. It's so nice to have people to turn to when you feel lost :) Especially people like me who always feel a little lost
