If that is big, then Chanel is GIANT at 8.5lbs. :laughing5:
How did little Miya do at the vet's? Was it just for vaccines?

lol Michele, my thoughts exactly. I've been meaning to get her a new harness and it's just too pretty outside today not to take her out.

LS-we went to the vet to follow up with her itchy issues and to do preop bloodwork for her spay on 5/1 *nervous* I wanted to talk to the doc about raw feeding, which I did. Right now it seems to be a great option for her. Since the benadryl seemed to help aid her itching, the doc doesn't think it's food allergies. She said since benadryl doesn't help fight food allergies, it may just be that VA is a crappy place for allergies. Regardless, Miya seems to really enjoy the raw so far. I've been meaning to ask you LS-do you feed raw? I remember you had mentioned something about raw during one of our talks. Chanel is so gorgeous, she can be 8.5 lbs and work it!

LS-Chanel is about the most fit Chi I know!! My girls are wimps compared to her and her workouts!
Oh please, your babies are far from wimpy, I remember how "tough" they get
when the mail man comes! haha As for Chanel, she is fit, but is larger than
the norm due to her merle genes. Her size works out better for our family,
because she can wrestle with her big brothers and keep up with them on
walks as well. Thank you for your compliment, you are darling Karen. :)

I see, well I sure hope those silly allergies go away very soon, you must be so
frustrated. I'm glad you switched to raw, I bet Miya is in heaven isn't she?!
I do feed raw to my dogs, always have, the Basenji is a wild hunting breed,
they NEED meat and can not thrive on any kind of kibble, Chanel is part of
the gang so she gets it too. But I do feed Acana Pacifica to my rescues, and
provide the new families with it as well, so they start on a good path. It is the
best kibble out there in my opinion. I have had such great results with it,
especially in dogs with food sensitivities/allergies. I do believe raw is #1, but
not many adopters are willing to go through the trouble, I do manage to
convince some though. How are you liking feeding raw so far?

I don't like feeding raw per say, not yet anyway. It hasn't clicked for me yet. As a human, it's abnormal to eat raw meat so I am adjusting it the whole idea. I'm not sure how to balance it. It's only day 3, so I am reading up on what the feed when. Right now she's getting cornish hen for the first week. I might introduce another protein next week, not sure yet. Miya is in heaven! You are so right about that. She especially is taking a liking to the bones. As long as my little baby likes it, she's happy, and it's good for her, I'm happy. Her vet tried to tell me that one of the holistic vets that teaches at the Univ of Florida told her that she, as a doctor, went through a raw phase..suggesting raw to all her patients. Now later, those same patients are coming up with some kind of disease. She chalked it up to feeding raw and suggested that variety is best. Feed raw, then switch to high quality, back and forth yada yada. Who knows if those diseased pups were a result of raw feeding or not. It could be anything.

Aww, what a big girl she is! I got Holly weighed 2 days ago and she weighs just a little bit more than that at 5.4 lbs. But then again she was wearing her Puppia harness at the time... :laughing5::laughing5::laughing5:

You should see me at the doctor. Shoes off, jewelry off. I think they are afraid I will be in my undies by the time they actually weigh me!

Once the nurse told the doctor that she knew that I was really sick because I weighed with no sass and I removed nothing!

I can have 7.5 lbs. of Chi. That is of course, if Eden is standing on Ruby's back! haha!
