Please pardon my dirty carpet. I'm holding off on cleaning it until the weather isn't so messy.

I had to give the boys their heartworm pill the other day so I bought a can of Pedigree wet food (gross) to wrap the pill in. I've learned that I always have to give them just a plain bite without the pill first, or they find the pill! Well, they would not eat the Pedigree; at all! Buford just walked away, but Ernie went through all kinds of shenanigans with it. He rolled all over the edge of the bowl and on the floor (you know how they do when they roll in stinky stuff outside?). He was hysterical. I know it looks as though he liked it with his tongue out, but suffice it to say they never did touch it. I wound up getting some leftover rice that I had cooked with chicken a couple days ago and put their pill in that. Needless to say they wolfed it down!! LOL

Here he is in the middle of a roll! LOL

We went grocery shopping the other day, and of course it's just not a trip without bringing home toys for the boys. :) We brought one for each, but they both liked the frog. The other toy is that little white and pink thing behind/above Ernie.

Have you smelt pedigree food? It's smells awful. We normally put things in cheese and they just wolf that down.

I love the photo's Lin but I must admit that pic of Ernie on the roll is sooooooooo cute, I love his brindle coat. xxxxxx

ps the frog looks like it will really going to get tossed and thrown about......lol

Thank you ma'am! eeewwww I know Julie, It was gross. I never buy that stuff so I didn't know. And I figured the dogs would chow any wet food! Not so! LOL My preference was wet Chicken Soup, but I just couldn't make it to the pet supply store that day.

I have a heck of a time getting mine to take pills too; but I found if I smoosh it with some cheese, then they'll take it. We have the same dog dish you have also, and the cover-up on your couch! Kind of weird how they do those "rolls" on things...Pedro does that if we have fish and a piece gets dropped on the floor!!

Your boys are always so cute, I too love the rolling picture.

Yep, I get that with Honey too, they're too smart! I give her pills with cheese though.

Yeah, that Pedigree stuff is really nasty. I don't blame them for not going for it. The rice and chicken was a good idea. I've heard of people getting a little bit of peanut butter as well and putting the pill in that. Of course with that you have to make sure that they don't just lick the peanut butter. I usually get some beef with a little bit of plain broth and just have the pill disolve in it and I give my baby that. Love the toy by the way. I always have to get new toys for my baby too no matter how many toys she has. I'm waiting for a big delivery from Drs. Foster and Smith. I got my baby some new toys...the fleecy ball and the wiggly giggly ball and some really cool treats too. Sorry, I'm writing a novel here. haha. Anyways, your post just reminded me that I have to give Minky her heartworm pill. So thanks!

Either that or if you mush it and get some cottage cheese or cream cheese (just a little) I'm sure they would wolf it down.

Thanks everyone.

Jen, I had Bu on Heartguard. The vet started Ernie on Sentinel. Since it also fights fleas, I decided to switch Bu to Sentinel. I like it really well with the exception of lack of ease to dispense. :)

The upside tho is that during the warm weather (while Bu still took Heartguard), flea control was much easier with Ernest than with Buford. :)

Aww, your boys are SO cute, as always. I love the shot of Ernie going into a roll :) I'm glad you posted this because I am supposed to give Poco his hearworm pill today, and I almost forgot until I read this!
