I was wondering if your dogs have pet peeves to.

Tyler hates to be on his back. Even for belly rubs. He prefers them in the standing position.

How do I explain this next one of his. I found this one out by accident. One day I was holding Tyler and he put his 2 front paws on my face. So I pretended to bite them he cried bloody murder. He still does this if I try it.

Tyler hate's the back of his neck touched. Massaging is ok but touching it he freaks out and if you massage the wrong way IE lifting up skin a little he bugs out.

Another thing he does is if I am sitting on the couch he will try and get up but can't always jump up on his own. So he's like bouncing off the couch wanting me to pick him up. When I go down to get him he runs out of reach.

And if I try to teach him anything. IE: Sit and Shake. Sit he will not let me show him how to do it. He squirms away and Shake well he freaks out if I grab his paw and try's to get his paw back.

Tyler is a very shy/timid and skiddish. He is a little love bug. He loves other dogs and cat's. He has a select few people he really likes. If he doesn't know you he will act all afraid and run around, hide with his momma. If you show him no non-sense. He is really a good dog. My mom found out if you don't put up with his crap as she calls it she can pick him up and love on him. He tolerates it.

So what weird things do your dogs do?

Adam and Hannah dont really have much TBH. Well, Adam doesnt like people wearing baseball caps and Goths for some reason (an issue he developed several years after being well socialised to allsorts:confused:) and Hannah doesnt like pushy dogs but they are generally pretty mellow.
Heidi is another 'special' doggy like Tyler though! Very timid/scared and doesnt like loud noises, other dogs, strange people, having her tail touched, being picked up if she doesnt feel well and putting her harness on( I have to play Hunt The Dog at walk time!) among other things.
Any of these things occur and she tends to do the 'scream of death' and become a trembling basket case.

tyler is telling you he is scared. Being on his back is an extremely submissive position. He just can't do it right now. You might try luring him with something delicious like liver sausage to see if he'd roll over. You take the liver sausage right in front of his nose, and slowly, lure his head around, until he has to turn over. Might take many tries. My Emmie, loves her belly rubs, but they have to be on the bed, so she can run away!!! Sue

Bailey does the exact same! Makes us crazy! She wants up so bad but soon as we go to pick her up she back up.

Lmao too cute tyler. Yes being on back is a submissive thing. Dexter bellys up to my mom...dad...bf...and me but thats all. He will bellyup on any ground..inside..outside...on wet paths even lol. Hmm some dogs dont like their paws touched at all....dex is one of them. They have so many senses on them so its really sensitive. Dex has no prob jumpin from the floor to my lap on the kitchen stool which is 2 feet high. Altho sometimes when hes bring lazy he will jump nonstop lol. He will make all kinds of funny noises if he smells something yummy that me or mom is eating and not sharing. He used to have the ankle nippin while legs were walkin problem when he was a pup thouh...that was really itchy process lol. What else. Oh when were walking him he pays no mind to us and is in his own world just walking straight happy as can be

I have had her for one month and I noticed 2 things.

First is she sleeps in an old plastic toybox (plastic with holes) from the first night, with a fleece blanket and padding in it. I started to turn it over on its side mainly because I was afraid she would attempt to jump out and might hurt herself. So it was like a little house for her to crawl into. Well...she sleeps in it during the day but at night she sits right outside and cries and cries until you turn it back over an put her in it. (she cant jump in). She will sleep the whole night through like that and doesnt move.

She also hates feet wearing dark colored socks. She barks and barks and has a fit.

Cricket hates loud or soft clicking noises. Like fingernail clippers or my husband's gun when he cleans it. She dis likes motor cycles going by the house, but I think that's because it so fast and loud. She's never really been outside until we got her. She will growl and bark, I have to hold her or she will chase the motorcycle. I tell to calm down. Sometimes it works, when it does she gets pets, and good girls. I think that's it. Other than that she can be really easy going she loves to play. She especially loves her squeaky toy, but doesn't make it squeak lol!

oh I forgot one of Tyler's well 2 of them

He does not like to be pointed at. If you point at him he will try and bite your finger. Which he has there really light bite's though like he is playing around.

The same thing goes if you stick out your tongue at him. He will try and bite it. Sometime's acting like he's going to but by the time he gets close he will just give you kisses.

---

I am trying to think of stuff Penelope does.

When were eating in the kitchen. She knows she is not allowed in there and if your not watching her she will belly crawl over to were i am and lay down on the ground near my feat. Waiting for some scraps to hit the floor.

If I go out my back door and don't bring her with me I am bound to see her head sticking out the small hole we have in our laundry room. Neither of the chi's can fit through it but they sometime's will take turns sticking there head out it to see what I am doing.

Penelope's favorite thing to do is chase are boxer's like there playing tag.

We had a baby gate separating the living room from the kitchen. She was the first one to figure out that she could squirm her body through the bars. Once Tyler saw this he followed suit but he could just walk through them being 3lbs smaller.

Penelope is our little jumper. Our bed sits roughly 3 foot off the ground. She knows how to jump just right to barely grab on the top and pull herself onto it. She also gets on the couch no problem. If your sitting in a chair outside she will either walk up your legs like your a ramp or jump into your lap.

Toby hates when I whistle! I think its just too high pitched for him. He gets a horrified look on his face and runs under the bed/recliner/table.

Rocky hates glasses (which is awesome because every single person in this house wears glasses), people wearing socks, loud noises, boiling water, and the sound of opening a can of soda. He is very timid, anything will startle him and make him bark like mad. It is frustrating!

Gracie hates when I fry bacon...Only bacon...

The only thing we can figure out is shortly after we rescued her, I was frying bacon and set the smoke alarm off.

Now, as soon as she sees me get the skillet out and start putting bacon in it, she runs to my husband and buries her face in behind him, wherever he is sitting.

Diesel hates cars. I have no doubt in my mind that if he were to get away from me, he would be a car chaser.

Pedro hates having his nails trimmed. We've been asked not to come back by 3 groomers, so I have to do it all myself now. He will growl at me, and pretend like he's going to bite me, but he doesn't actually do it.
