Hello everyone in a few weeks i get my first chi. The were born Easter sunday and will be six weeks on mothers day. My breeder has two litters right now all form gizmo who is 3.5 pounds. One mom is 6 pounds and the other is 4 pounds. There are five puppies total, 2 girls and 3 boys. 3 long coats and 2 smooth coats. She was originaly going to keep the smooth fawn but it turns out she is going to be to tiny to breed. I get pick of the liter. I am so excited, if you didnt already know (lol). Any advice for me is needed and GREATLY appreciated.

Quick advice while I'm on break:

1. Wait until at least it's 8 weeks before you take it home.
2. Read every post on this website, starting with the stickies!
3. Post pictures as soon as you get your chi!
4. Make your appt with the vet so you can take it as soon as you can.
5. Tell your breeder not to vaccinate if you are taking home at 8 weeks. Any vaccines prior to this will likely be ineffective and the vet will disregard them anyways - avoid overvaccination.
6. Post pictures (did I say that already? I meant to!)

Good luck! -Nate
Thank you i am getting my chi when they are 10 wks. They get their first 2 shots there and i have an option to get the 3rd on my own or take it back to the breeder.

Far be it from me to contradict Nate but... if I'm not mistaken #1 should be "Post pictures as soon as you get your chi!" I can't believe you screwed that up, Nate. :D
I agree, Rachel. Congrats on getting your new furbaby. Be prepared to become a total "bore" where your chi is concerned. LOL Seriously though, there is just something about chis that is totally addictive. You talk about your chis, you obsess about your chis, you worry about your chis, you dream about your chis!! Hope I'm not scaring you -

We are all here to answer any questions we can - there is a lot of valuable information on this site. Let us know which puppy you decide on, and post pics!!! Good luck.
and if you didn't understand let me make it perfectly clear

POST PICS AS SOON AS YOU GET YOUR BABY
