I called my grandmother today (who i call "Gram") and she told me about this lady who lives down the street from her. I guess this lady runs a foster home for chi's and has about 5 of them right now at her house. My gram said she was walking her dog the other day, and the lady had all five of them outside in a big dog play pen running around and playing, so she went to see them and talk to the lady. Then she says "I couldn't believe it, they were so cute and small, and they all had hair!" Well, I immediately start laughing, and I ask "What do you mean they all had hair? Of course they have hair." She told me she thought chi's were hairless and it shocked her when she saw they all had hair.

I explained to her that she was probably thinking of the Chinese Crested dogs, who although may look like chi's, are not, but those are the hairless dogs. She told me she saw a long haired chi that was black and white and she just fell in love with her. So i asked her if maybe she could talk to the lady who is fostering the chi's and see about maybe adopting her. She said maybe, but because Robin (her pekignese) is getting old and has skin allergies she'd have to talk to the vet and see what kind of an impact getting another dog could do.

Hopefully my Gram will get a chi...that way when I go visit her Chico will have another chi to play with. :)
