Normally at 7 wks they are still with their mom, so he is very young. Just be patient and consistent and he will learn.
This is excellent advice and I hope you take it. Your pup is very young. You don't want him to go into hypoglycemic shock. Your pup may never eat a different food. You can try someting later, as he gets older, but don't stress over it if he won't switch foods.Gadget's Mom said:I myself would stick to the food he likes... He is very young to be changing food on him...
I have had Gadget since he was 3 weeks old and I had him on Iam canned puppy formula food and after a couple weeks he started throwing it up... I had to change his food and it was very hard to get him to eat the new food... I had no choice but I had to change it without weaning him off the old and on to the new food... poor little fella didn't know what was going on.. he was 5 weeks and I had to change his food 3 times in just a few days.. it was not fun amd it gave him diarhea.. it was not fun.. finally I got Science Diet small breed puppy bites and he loved it... I had to run it through the food proccessor and then wet it with water... It was a big pain for that few days...
I wish you all the luck in the world.. but if I was you I woulld feed him the food he likes and then in a couple months try changing his food..
Good luck and God bless
