Some puppies take longer than others. I've heard it can take a while to train them. Cricket is mine, and I've trained her to pee outside. I would take her out every 30 to 45 min, and she didn't get picked up until she did her business. I know you can't do that with the pads though. Cricket came to me as an untrained adult. So if I can train, you can too. Just keep on doing what your doing, he will get it.

Do you use a "key word" when he does his business on the pad? For instance we say the traditional pee pee, over and over again. If she goes on the pad we have a big party for her. She doesnt go all the time but for the most part, if we say pee pee, 8 out of 10 she will go. Sometimes she uses it as a mat to sit on but I get her right off of it. I know it takes alot of time and patience and eventualy he will get it

I did the same thing as Anna. When I put Angel on the pad, I said go pee pee and when he did, I would clap my hands jump up and down, yell yeah!! I made a big production out of it with lots of pats and attention. He trained in about 3 weeks. For me, I thought that was quick! I did keep him in his crate if he didn't do his business.

He is now 18 months and will go on pee pad or outside. So take heart, just give him a little more time!

first of all thank you all on the comments, I do use Keyword..... and you would think its his birthday with the reaction he gets lots of praise and a cookie. I had decided that with no yard for him to go in that the pads were the best option of us. I was just concerned that he was back tracking in his progress, but i see he's not and just has a long way to go. thank you all again,Katrina
