we woke up today and little liams right eye was all cloudy and foggy so we took him to the vet. turns out he has an ulcer in his eye. the vet said its from a scratch or something, so i guess maybe layla or riley scratched him by mistake, idk. but hes got to take eye medication 4 times a day and then have a check up in 10 days to see how its going, but the vet said if its not better that he will have to go to a eye specialist. the vet also told us that liam has a slight heart murmur, hes only 3 months old. they said that it could go away thought so there going to check it when we go back in 10 days for his eye.
my whole family is praying that his eye gets better, im very nervous about it getting worse, so i need all the prays we can get. hes wearing a little cone now, idk how they got one so little lol. i will take pics later because it is pretty cute, my poor little baby. hes so brave.

Eye scratches usually heal pretty quick. I had a scratched eye once, it was healed in about 4 days. It's painful the first day, but after that, it was fine. And the heart murmur in a baby is sometimes present and means nothing. If he was a year old and they heard it, I would worry more. Good luck on your little one, hope everything goes well.

I am sorry to hear the baby has a scratch on his little eye, and will most certainly pray for his healing and his heart murmur.. Blessings, Deb

I do hope that liam is going to be fine. It is worse than children, because they cannot tell you how they feel. All I ever want to do is hold them when they are not well. All my best!

I will pray that they get better :(
My chi scratched the other one in the eye but thankfully I saw it happen and so the vet gave me sulfacetamide and maxitrol eye drops and an ulcer was never formed
He should get used to the cone hopefully and it won't stay on for too long :)

I had my chihuahua attacked by the jack russells (2) next door. The worse injury was an ulcer in her eye. About 2/3rds of her eye 'lit up' when he put the dye in!!! It looked horrid. She was in pain, blinking and trying to 'rub' it. Fortunately, they gave her 2 eye medications and a recheck in 3 days. Well 3 days later, it was gone!!! He continued the one eye drop, and rechecked in a week and she was done!

Here's hoping your little one will be as lucky! Sue Davis

I personally had an ulcer in the same eye twice from wearing contacts too long. It hurt a lot, and I am sure it is the same for dogs! I hope he feels better soon.

Awwwww I am sorry, poor little Liam. Prayers for a speedy recovery for him and that his murmur will not be to serious. I know there a few members with chis with heart murmurs that live a long healthy life.

Just seeing this. Hope he is doing better. he looks so cute with his cone on in this picture. It's quite amazing how quickly they adapt to one though. Quigley had to wear his after his surgery. He just pressed on after he realized it was not going away.

Prayer for a fast recovery for sweet Liam!

haha yea they do learn to get use to it after awhile, liam didnt cry or anything, even when he got his shots. riley on the other hand crys at everything. so im glad liam is not the same way hahaha

his eye seems to be clearing up a bit, but i cant be too sure, i cant wait for his check up, i just hope everything is healing and doing better, i cant wait to take this cone off his head, and stop giving him these eye drops, it aways makes me feel so bad/

We did eye drops for Brody 4 times a day for months when he had his eye problems. (He's blind in the left eye from birth but had detached retinas in both eyes and temporary blindness. We saw an eye specialist for months). You do what you have to do. ;)

Sounds like Liam is being a trooper. :)
