Go to a few dog shows in your area, talk to the people showing chi's. Some of them will be breeders, some will know breeders and all of them will help stear you right. I found my local dog shows by lucking into a papillon breeder and handler. By convincing him I really wanted a chi and not a papillon he becane really helfpful. He went and got his list of shows close enough to drive to and the name of the lady that was secretary of the local chapter of the chihuahua club.
