Hi--I just joined the forum today. I put a few posts
and pictures in a section called Chis and Cats.
I will go ahead and repeat myself and tell my story
again here.
My husband and I were at the gas station filling up the
car with gas. There was a tiny little dog running around
the parking lot, and the short time we were there she
almost got run over twice. She came right over to me
when I called her, and she was shaking violently. It
was early October and cold out. We left our name and
number with the guy working at the gas station, in case
she got out of someone's car accidentally. No one ever
called. We checked the lost/found ads. We called the
animal control person in our town--no one had reported
her missing. So we kept her. She's a little 3 pound
1/2 ounce long haired tan with black markings chihuahua.
The next day I took her to the vet because she had
a large knot on the side of her face, which turned out
to be a bad gum infection. She was also malnourished,
the poor baby. Antiobiotics took care of the infection very quickly. We wondered how she would fit in with
our 15 year old 16 pound cat. They get along so great.
It is so cute--when they are in the same room......
THEY MUST TOUCH! lol They lay rear to rear or side by
side all the, it's so cute. We don't have kids, so they
are sort of our babies. The dog never barks--I don't know
why. Sometimes I kind of wish she WOULD.
She doesn't like dog food, and I know I probably spoil her--
she likes meat--whatever we have leftover from meals.
She loves chicken, pork chops, roast beef, etc. I would
LOVE to get her to eat dog food, but since she has a history
of being malnourished, I have a tendency to just let her
have what she wants, as much of it as she will eat.
OK, here they are--Brownie and Fred. Two peas in a pod.
