Hi! My name is Briana. I'm a mommy of a 2 year old (in April!) boy named Jordan, and a 6 month old girl named Helena. We live in the suburbs of Chicago. Congrats on the new puppy! I hope you have a plan in place for teaching your children about proper handling of a puppy? Chi pups are very small and quite fragile. Many breeders won't even consider letting one go to a family with toddlers/babies. We have seen many heartbreaks here with broken legs, dropped puppies, etc. Do you have a playpen or other plan for keeping your puppy safe?

He's had lots of practice with a friend's dog, a mini dachshund. He knows to be gentle and that the dog can get hurt very easily. If for some reason he forgets and we have to work with him more, there is a gated off area in our home where the puppy can play and still see us, or I can go in and play with him and still see my kids. We've planned this out.

Oh and as my daughter grows (she's hardly even crawling as of now), she will learn the proper way to handle the dog.
