Hello everyone! I'm Carla (you can probably guess that I live in Missouri) and my hubby and I just got Wally on Saturday. He's 14 weeks old, 3.5 lbs, and an absolute doll - I'm already in love with my little guy! We had a visit with the vet yesterday and much to my dismay, he confirmed what I suspected - that Wally got kennel cough from the pet store. So glad we got him out of there!!! I'm now much better educated on why you shouldn't purchase an animal from a pet store, but I still wouldn't trade him for anything. Hopefully this doxycycline clears things up fast. Also, the pet store kinda pushed us into Royal Canin and the vet didn't seem to be bothered too much by that suggestion, but I really wanna get him on a more natural diet, so I'm looking forward to hearing about how you all feed your little ones. I've posted a pic - ignore the hubby yawning in the background. Lol! It's wonderful to be here!!!

Hello! Welcome to CP! This is a great place for information. We feed Fromm Family. It is a 5 star food. I would suggest going to dogfoodadvisor.com. And finding something that has either 4 or 5 stars. A lot of people here also feed raw. But if you want the convenience of kibble with the benefits or raw ziwipeak is a good route.

HI there. Welcome to the forum. I have Bonnie Bonita a 5.6month old that weighs all of 3 pounds. As to the food, there are many good ones out there. Mostly sold in private pet shops that do NOT sell live animals! Some good ones are premade: Stella and Chewies, ZiwiPeak. These can be frozen or freeze dried. I use Stella and Chewies myself. Kibbles that are good are Fromm, Acana, Go, Now. I have used Fromm, Go and Now. Now has really tiny kibble for chi's! These are 5 star foods. Since chi's are so tiny they really need each mouthful to count. Good luck with him.
