I think my chi might have gotten knocked up through a hole in the fence? I live in a very remote area, and the vet has never dealt with small dogs, so im looking for some chi mommy advice! :daisy:

HI and welcome to the board. I imagine you will need to give a bit more info about yourself and your chi if you need advice. Thanks ;-)

I believe my 3yr old female (Cloey) is preggers. Not planned, but not neccessarily a bad thing. I am very nervous about losing her during birth. She isnt fixed because the vet doesnt think she can put her under? Cloey had a rough start in life. Cutest little runt, but she wouldnt eat. Spent thousands upon thousands to keep her alive. 3yrs later i have the most wonderful chi ever. Healthy, active, and happy. LOVES the snow.... :}

Spayed is at the top of the list. The possible father is a pom. Cloey is (was 4.5lbs) now she is 5 plus lbs. The pom male looks about the same size. Hoping for the best...

Welcome and good luck with the spay. I just had my 3lb chi spayed and they put her under and all went just fine. Be sure to get a vet that has at least some experience with small dogs and I'm sure she will be fine :)

Literally... a ten ft. tall wooden fence with a small knot missing... and they were tied through the fence... it was so awful! On a great note...I have found a vet that specializes in "toy" breeds... far away and very pricey.. but i just cant take the chance with my Cloey.... this small town vet scares me.

Glad it was a false pregnancy. Excellent that you found a specialist vet for her. There are some very safe gases used for putting dogs under. Bizkit has always been small and I've always talked to the vet about which gas to use. He gets his teeth cleaned every six months and I'm happy to report he's never had a problem (knock on wood). He's almost 9 years old and weighs 3.9 lbs.
Please let us know how Cloey's spay goes. Best wishes!!
Kimberly
