I am not sure who is being trained here but we are getting lots of fresh air! ;)
I have Paco down to one puppy pad in the house but he almost always goes outside.

Sometimes I missed his cues. Sometimes he just sits and stares at me for a minute to tell me he has to go. If I am busy at the moment I miss his cue and he goes on the puppy pad. The puppy pad is in a corner so I have strung a row of little bells between an end table and the couch. If he goes to the potty pad he has to ring the bells.

Hopefully, with the new bells will give me better signal. For now, I am taking him out every time he rings the bells! I am hoping we can turn this into ring the bell when you want to go potty! We are both learning a new trick!!!

Congrats on being down to one puppy pad!!

Jaxx hops up on the back of the loveseat when he has to go potty and if I don't notice he will start whining.

I think he has figured out though if he wants to go outside and play (also known as sniff every inch of the ground) he can hop onto the back of the loveseat and he will get his way. I do not mind though I enjoy our walks.

I think the bell ringing is a great idea! I had read up on it when we were house training Jaxx but I was not sure how well it worked. I am glad it is working well for you!

We recently got a set of "Poochie Bells" which are hung from a hook (from the door knob, little Ote was not able to reach!) and the dogs are being trained to "ring" the bells in order to go outside. They both have their own way of telling us, but this will be much easier. Whenever we notice them telling us that they have to go out, we have them sit by the bells and say "Paw" until they hit the bells....then we instantly go "POTTY LET'S GO POTTY" and they run down the steps to the front door. Mojo is almost all the way trained on the bells, but Ote is almost scared of them, LOL. She gets the point, I think, just have to get her to hit the bells and not be too nervous. Your bell method sounds awesome!! Let us know how it goes
