ok i hope no-one is getting mad at me for getting cosmo's ears taped :?
and don't tell me it doesn't have to matter if they are up or down ,you have to love them just the same .....i love cosmo to death with or without ears straight.

i went to the vet ....and he told me ....;if we tape him for a few days/weeks he still has a good chance of standing straight ...but afterwards it will never happen ( he's 8 months)

so i'm going to let it on for a few days and have a look....and decide wether to tape again or just leave it.

he doesn't mind the tape at all and seems to have forgotten about it.

Oh my goodness Nat, as long as Cosmo is fine with it I see no problem in it. I hope you get the results you are looking for. He does look like a hoot though. Are the girls looking at him strange?

I had Mr. Peepers ears taped too but decided that they'll go whichever way they want to go, so I took it off. I kinda wish I would have kept in on! :?

I have read though that if they aren't up or taped by 6 months that it won't work. I hope it works out for you though!

Oh my goodness - he does look rather funny with the tape on his ears. :D Nat, we all know how much you love your babies, and we all know you will love cosmo whether his ears stand up or not. If you want to try the tape to see if they will stand up, go for it.

He looks as though he is being a really good sport about it all.

yeah i know that ....but the fact is at 6 months his ears were straight :? they also say that when they were straight and go floppy because of teething...they will go straight again ......
But me and the vet decided maybe its' best to help his ears a bit ( because they are big ) you can see they are trying to get up .....

i think it's also a bit because cosmo is very expressive with his ears ;.....if i talk to him or he looks at me ..;his ears already go flat

we will see if it works ...if it doesn't work ...then cosmo will just be my floppy guy :D

I had never seen a Chi with floppy ears until I got Cooper. His are flopped about 75% of the time and, personally, I find the floppy ears adorable!!

I never heard of taping their ears, either. As long as it's painless for them and they don't seem to mind, I don't see a problem with it. I just love the flop though! It makes the moments when they're standing up straight mean so much more!

second day :D

i m trying to keep it up for a week ....but i'm always tempted to take it of  he looks sooooo silly .

i altered the construction a bit ..because his ears were falling to the side, i made a connection between the ears , so they are neatly stuck straight .....
giving him calcium and vitamins every day .....i'm so curious ...

i'm almost sure they will stand up when i take it off ...but will it last ???
well i've tried .....if they flop agian ...he's just meant to be floppy

its very common for german shephard dogs to have their ears taped. and a few other breeds get it done if they flop when they aren't supposed to flop.
