I brought Odin home on the 9th. He has been a great dog and I love having him around. He has been super sweet, cuddly, and a mama's boy. However, last night EVERYTHING changed.

He is literally going crazy! After I got home yesterda we went outside and played for a bit, I noticed then that he was not listening to me like he normally would and when I said "NO"(he was trying to go under our shed) he ignored me. Previously he would stop what ever he was doing and come to me. After that I brought him inside.
He started running in circles, chewing on blankets, pulled clothes out of the dirty basket, and then he literally opened one of our kitchen cabinets and began pulling stuff out(the one with all the random plastic ware.lol). As I was trying to put everything away, he ran off and started chewing on the coffee table. I tried sitting down with him to play his toys but he wasn't interested. I'm not sure what changed, but I'm about to go crazy. Am I doing something wrong?Since he has only had one round of shots taking him on walks and to the puppy park are out of the question, but boy did I feel like maybe the risk is worth it.

I worked as a nanny for 2 years, and none of that even begins to compare to the tornado that is Odin! Is this a phase or am I going about puppy parenting wrong? Is this ever going to stop?

We always say in rescue it takes at least two weeks for a dog or pup to feel comfortable in a new home. He is just going through puppy stages though mine have selective hearing and can be that way too. Just make sure you tell him No and keep on him. Also if he is teething you might want to get him some good chew toys etc. Replace the bad item to chew on with the correct item after telling him no and once he starts chewing on the approved item tell him good boy!

He's getting to the real puppy age. If your ticker is right, he is only two months old? If that's the case, he is going from being a baby to a toddler. And toddlers are crazy. Everything you are describing is normal for a puppy his age. He will outgrow it. Toby outgrew that stage after he was neutered at 6 months. I thought I was going to go crazy before that. Puppy proof your house and yard. Buy baby locks for cabinets if you need to. Don't let him out of your sight until you know he is trustworthy. He will grow out of it, as long as he is trained and monitored. Toby did. Now I have a ton of chewed up furniture, wires taped to my carpet, and a bunch of stuff ruined and thrown away to show for it. Good luck!

I have yet to figure out how you are handling 3 at one time LOL
Ah, it's easy peasy, really it is, especially when they're well behaved little darlings who adore their mom and just live to please :) I thought I'd be able to walk them on a triple coupler, but it turns out the 2 biggies simply drag the tiny along, so I have 2 on a double coupler and the tiny on a separate lead so that is a royal pain in the butt as I always wanted 1 hand free to wallop feral attacking dogs with my "secret weapon" which is still in the design/manufacturing stage.

One of them is letting the team down badly though, and I think I know which one it is too .... one of them pees right in front of an open door (lounge room side) that leads out on to the outside deck where their potty is - like 2 more steps & the scoundrel would be outside in potty heaven, or ONE step and he'd be on a bleedin' pee pad with frame.

One, same little turd I suspect, has chosen a couple of spots in between furniture to poop and that's driving me insane. If they weren't fed raw & ZP, I think I'd die over that part of it.

In the main though, they all do tend to go outside or on their pee pads but, at this age, I'm starting to get nervous about "accidents" that are not accidents at all, just sheer laziness and naughtiness.

I run around with bucket full of my own homemade enzyme cleaner to completely kill the smell & destroy the urine crystals - over here a 1 litre bottle costs about $30 and I swear I would've used dozens by now.

Puppies well behaved darling who aim to please? Wow they have you trained well lol

Sonny and BG both went through that too and it took awhile to get them through it. It is almost like they rush as they are scared they might miss something lol

I would get a puppy playpen and use it! You cannot watch a puppy 24/7. A playpen will give you at least a little time to yourself. A shower, getting dinner, a favorite TV program. Give the little one a bully stick or other chew toy (kong stuffed with stuff and frozen) and let them be. I'm not condoning putting a puppy in a pen all day, just enough time to teach them that they can't be with you every living minute! Good luck. Sue

I know how you feel! When I got Angel, I thought "What did I do??" But now he is 18 months old and is really turning into quite the little man!

What you are witnessing is also referred to as "the puppy crazies!" It's kind of cute. . .once they get out of that stage! lol

Sound strange, but, ENJOY it! It will be gone soon!

Thanks everyone! I have actually been thinking about borrowing a kids play pen from my cousin and keeping it in the eat-in-kitchen area. I found a way to tire him out though! Being chased by 2yo twins who love "dog-dogs"!!lol
