As my fiance & I have several pets, I'm wondering how well (if at all) your Chi's get along with other animals. Including other Chi's, other breeds of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish etc?

Please let me know your thoughts!

Bella get's along with other dogs, as long as she is the boss !

my 3 get along ok - the 2 chis fight sometimes and they do bully the poor cat but 9 times out of 10 they get along :lol:

Daytona gets along with anything Lady take her awhile Sturgis he growls and barks and lundges towards it if he sees one while we walk. but together they all get along well

:flower: Porsha so far gets along wonderfully with her 2 cats ( ha ha ) and all the dogs she's been around she does well. but she's just a pup.

Mylo has only been around our friends 5 month old Pug. He does not like her. They are getting better but he still growls at her (funiest thing) and tries to bite her.

Chico gets along fine with my 2 cats. they play a lot. chico does get a little to rough with the cats sometimes, but that rarely ever happens anymore. they're best buddies.

Peanut gets along great with Cody (labrador) but thats because he was the first dog Peanut ever saw.

He doesnt get alone very well with other dogs until he has spent a long long time with them..

He loves the three cats at my parents house but since he always wants to smell them and get on top of them, the cats get a bit mad.. So leaving them alone is not possible because I am afraid they will hurt Peanut..

I have two parakeets but Peanuts doesnt even mind them.. Its like they are not there..

I have 2 guinea pigs, Jasmine and Amy...Gizmo loves them! He finds them so curious, especially when they squeek...he'll tilt his head to the side... :lol:

My Older pooch tolerates Giz....but, he is 11...and Gizmo is barely 4 months...

Reba amd Nikita, our Lab/Ridgeback cross, are terrific. But Nikita has a very maternal instinct and anything we have had around her like kittens or pups, she wants to adopt them. We have a Jack Russell that is a bit dog aggressive and we have had to take more time with them. Reba wants to boss Fergie, the JRT, and she'll have none of that. But mostly they do ok now. The cats are quite tolerant of Reba and blow her off mostly. My daughter has a ferret and when Reba has seen her, she would like to get to know her better, but they haven't been allowed to get down on the floor together yet. Anytime you have an assertive temperament like many of the chis have, you just have to supervise longer and make sure everyone is getting along well before you drop your guard. :wink:

My boys would LOVE to play with my cats. My cats want nothing to do with them though! :roll: My cat that passed away earlier this year would play with them, even cuddle with them.

Binki loves everything that wants to play with her. This may include my cat or Torie. She also likes the animals she meets at the park and such. Torie doesn't pay much attention to other animals. She's ok with the cat; mostly just ignores him. She also plays with Binki if Binks insists upon it. Good Luck with all your fur-babies.

Lina doesn't much care for other breeds of dog. She gets along with my grandparents Samoyd (sp?) but my aunts Dachtsund (sp?) is not one of her friends at all lol. She likes other chi's and even chi mixes. We were at PetsMart when they were having adoption day and we saw a beagal/chi mix and Lina just loved him! I tried to get my bf to let me adopt him, but he wouldn't .

I'm mainly worried about my b/f's pet rabbit & guinea pigs. Also my Mum & I have 3 cats right now, that Mum will probably keep when Tom & I are married & in a house together (again because of his pets). My vet said that Chi's can be a bit funny around other pets & kids, because they like to be the boss!

Uh uh...Seiah wants to be nowhere near another animal except Bubbles. Today we went to a friends house for a BBQ and he has a really friendly bull dog. Wow, I never heard Seiah growl the way he did. The poor bull dog just wanted to play and was waiting for me to let Seiah down, but Seiah was doing anything in his powers to get to higher ground. :roll:

Macy loves our 8 yr old Mini Schnauzer and he loves her too. They play with each other all the time. Macy expects every dog she meets to play with her like he (Jasper) does. We took her camping over Memorial Day and left Jasper at home. They were so excited to see each other when we got home. Now our cat is another story. She hates the new puppy and runs away anytime Macy tries to get too close!

Cooper gets along well with cats, and small dogs (after he gets to sniff them) but large dogs he doesn't know....he doesn't like at all. He always tries to attack them. :roll:

Bella adores her Shih Tzu brother. She follows him everywhere. They do get along great. It took a few weeks, but we got there.
