I was told that 2 months ago that my 7 mo old chi has undescended testicles. Just since this morning he has starting "yipping" out in pain for no reason. I have searched his little body for any indication of pain or discomfort to find nothing. He does seem to have slight tenderness & tiny lump in the abdominal area. I know I need to get him to a vet immediately but I have no money till Wed. Could my baby die if I can't get him in to see a vet until Wed? I know this is a dumb question but I don't know what else to do...Any advice would be welcome......

The tiny lump could be a hernia or teste depending on where it is.

It is VERY important that you have him neutered because with his teste being buried deep inside his body, the internal heat can lead to all sorts of complications, not the least of which is cancer of the testicle/s.

I don't know about where you are, but over here it costs a vast amount more to neuter a crypt because it can be a really tricky procedure when them having to go in deep to find it.

In my opinion he'll be fine until Wed. but just keep a close watch and if it should get worse then get there straight away. There's a dog painkiller that's name escapes me at the moment that you could ask the vet to prescribe until you can get in there or, alternatively, they may let you pay on Wed. but see him before ... if they know you chances of that are very good. Do you not have a credit card you could use? Or borrow the $'s from someone?

Thank you for your kind advice. I will be taking him to the Vet tomorrow morning if all goes as planned. More than likely my vet's office will allow me to float a check for a couple of days. Since they were closed today I kinda freaked out about all this. He is just not himself. Very lethargic, not the usual piss and vinegar puppy that bites the dickens out of me every chance he gets. HELP!!!!this just happened 15 min ago. My puppy was attacking one of his stuffed animals and his inner penis protruded out about 6 inches long along with the glands. He starting crying, I freaked out. It finally shrunk back into himself after about 5 agonizing minutes...So why is this happening & do I need to rush him to a emergency vet er or can he go to the vet first thing in the morning. I'm frightened and I'm sure he is too!!!!

no you don't have to go running to the vets lol. What he has done is mated with his toy and the [ inner penis and glands] are in fact his sexual organs that if he had been mating with a female dog would be inside her out of view...He is likely to be a bit touchy around there as it is very sensitive and usually inside. So long as it has properly retracted and is not protrubing out at all then eveything is fine...
