I know this has probably been brought up several times but I need some ideas!
I know Ace is only 12 weeks old and he probably hasnt gotten the whole potty thing figured out. For a while, I kept him in the bathroom and he would pee on newspaper. When my inlaws got Wednesday(his sister) I didnt want to leave him alone in the bathroom, so I blocked off part of my hallway and put my other to chis in there with him. He did pretty good and would use the bathroom on the newspaper. Well, now all he does is chew the newspaper to pieces. He does GREAT about peeing outside though. EVERY once in while I will catch him on going on the floor....but thats nothing compared to him pooping. When we let them all outside, he pees. As soon as he comes in the house, he poops. EVERY TIME! I dont know what to do. I dont want to spank him. When I pop him...he runs and hides from me. It makes it really hard...hes getting to where he wont come inside when I call him, because hes scared hes gonna get in trouble. Please tell me what I can do to make him learn. I know hes still little....but if he can pee outside why cant he poop out there too? My other 2 didnt do this when they were young. Maybe I need to give him more time...I dont know. Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.

my first chi was trained to go to the bathroom outside and not to use pads like my guys are now. he did use pads when i first got him though. here are two things i did to help him make the switch

i always brought his wet pee pads outside with him and whenever he did do a poop inside i brought it outside and left it there. then whenever he went out i would bring him near it. he was one of the easiest dogs to housebreak and it didn't take him long before he was doing everything outside :)
