The puppies were out of the pen with the pack for the first time tonight. They're 7 weeks old now. They did great and had such fun. The other dogs loved them and were really good for th most part. i just made sure they didnt bother Tiko.

I think they are mixed, their mom looks like she has some dachshund in her and I have no idea who the dad was.

OMG Pam idea!! You should test and we should guess what they are, like a fun poll, do you think your vet can do it?

Just out of interest why have you only just let them meet your other dogs and out of the pen at 7 weeks. Their fear imprint from 4 weeks onwards so from 3 weeks you want to get them use to a whole host of people and dogs, sounds sights etc... It's all part of their socialisation.

My litter are 5 weeks old this Wednesday, they met my other dogs at 2.5 weeks, are out their pen throughout the day and the pen is left open for the other dogs to come and go as they please with my supervision. Their dam says no to the others too. One is currently being rolled around on the floor by their cousin who is 11 months all the other dogs play a huge part in teaching them how to behave around others. I also separate them randomly so they don't become dependant on each other. Mum comes and goes as she pleases too. I let her lead me since she knows their needs more than me.

We also have a lot of noise going on... Tv, I am banging everything in sight, slamming doors, vacuuming (obviously as my house is disinfected at least twice a day ATM) next week will start playing firework sounds and storm sounds and wearing hats and glasses, using sticks etc.. Their pen is also set up with things for them to climb on and off of, things to drag around, tunnels to go through etc.

Since you don't know who the father is I would personally socialise these pups to the hill as you are unsure of what sort of temperament they could of inherited

I don't want to sound like I'm criticising you at all as I think what you have done is good but thought i would just give some pointers since they are at a very impressionable age what they experience from 4-16 weeks really does make such a huge impact on them as adult dogs.
