Hey all,

Quick question, when does a chi change from his/her puppy coat to its adult coat?

Radley is a smooth coat, but at present is a bit fluffy still with his pup fluff, I have read it can be any time between 8 and 12 weeks, but just wanted to see what peoples experiences here have been like?

Thanks in advance

This is a good question. Thank you for asking it because I'd love to know, too!

When we got Hope she was as soft as cotton and her hair (because it is cream and white) was all there but she looked kind of translucent! A co-worker said she looked pink. She did even though she was perfectly covered with hair (no bald spots, etc.).

Now, her hair is a bit thicker and a bit more coarse. Still soft but getting closer to what our grown boy's hair was like.

Curious to hear what people say.

p.s. that Radley is just too precious!!

I'm not sure w/ SC. I know LC typically blow their coats around 4-5 months and adult ones slowly come in after that. W/ SC my guess is the change is not that drastic as no one ever talks about it. Timing is about the same I'd think, although my SC girl's coat never changed from 5 months on when I got her...
