Do you use the same towel multiple times before washing? Because using a new towel every single day seems like a lot of laundry lol. If you use the same towel multiple times, is there no worry about bacteria growth? I know dogs can handle bacteria and what not, but I thought when bacteria just sits there it enables it to spread or whatever? That's why I always wash her food dish after she eats raw out of it, because I thought the bacteria could be a problem since if it just sits there it enables it to multiply. Or so I was told. Have I been over thinking things like salmonella, and have I been going overboard with the soap? Lol.

I use a towel or blanket more than once. We feed twice a day and I'll use it for a couple days before washing.

I use for several days as well. Brody is pretty neat. There's not much that gets on the towel. Then I throw it on the washer until next time.

Just remember that bacteria is everywhere. It is a part of our world. It's literally raining bacteria all the time. We did an experiment in my microbiology class with open auger dishes (petri dishes). Just filled them with auger (a gelatin like base) and let them sit open for an hour, then close and incubate. Within a day, they were ALL growing bacteria. It's in the air we breathe, it's on every surface, it's everywhere.

And remember, salmonella is present in kibble. There are recalls all the time. Just yesterday, a national recall for diamond naturals lamb and rice kibble for salmonella contamination. Truly, I believe dogs have a better chance of picking up pathogens from kibble than they do from fresh raw foods.

Do what is comfortable for you though. If it makes you uncomfortable to use a towel more than once, then wash them.

I dont use towels i just put them in their seperate crates and wipe up with Clorox Disinfecting Wipe when they are done. I have enough launsry to do, and with four chis I dont need any extra. But if i did use a towel, i would use the same one for the day and a new one each day.

I read a post once on this from another member that Tracy had
reposted and it was great.

As for me personally, I use a towel for a couple of days before washing it.
