PetsMart really needs to educate thier sales people on quality of dog food. I went in today to hopefully find D some canned food (he won't eat his dry) that is better for him than the Pedigree that we've been feeding him because I can't find anything he'll eat  (he's gettin' pretty picky in his old age). Anyway- I was walking around checking out the large breed food when a sales person walks up to me. He asks me if he can help me with anything, I tell him my problem. He points me towards Nutro. Now, I know that this is a perfectly acceptable food, but this guy was actually claiming that is BETTER than Chicken Soup (which is what D was on before he stopped eating). I just could not believe my ears. Who teaches these people this crap? Ugh! I was polite though..held my tongue (as I so often have to) and told him I'd think about it. I didn't buy the Nutro. Not only was it entirely too expensive for one small can...I don't like it compared to my Chicken Soup.

As I was searching for treats he might enjoy an older lady walked up to me followed by a sales person. She said that she had to chi's at home (Ricky and Lucy lol). She wanted to know what I fed mine (apparently the sales guy told her Eukanuba was the best for chi's  ) and I told her Chicken Soup and I told her where to find it. She was going to pick some up (yes! another cross over!). She then went on to tell me that her female was 5 months old and weighs only 1lb (a little more than a pound actually). She said that her vet told her she would be about 2lbs full grown (somehow I doubt that). She then asked me if mine were spayed and neutered...I said Lina is but Boss isn't..he will be next month though. Then she said that she hadn't gotten her 2 fixed because she wants puppies from her girl (she's blue by the way)  . I stood right up and told her that I wouldn't advise that. She asked why and I gave her the usual reasons (her female is MUCH too small and her male should NEVER be larger than the female when breeding the 2). Get this you guys...she looks at me and says, "That's what other breeders have told me but my vet says she'll be OK so I'll go with what the vet says." I almost smacked her. Who would do that?? UGH!!

Then another lady came over and wanted to talk to them (my pups lol) and she has a chi too lol. Hers was getting groomed and was colored alot like Jess's Ginger. She was precious. She was in there buying her a stoller .

So..today PetsMart was just crawling with Chihuahua owners.

After PetsMart we stopped off at Emo's...a little outdoor ice cream shack. The pups enjoyed it. They got thier first taste of ice cream. Normally I would NOT have done that, but I figured a little bit isn't horrible. It's not like I gave them thier own cones or anything. And it's the first time for both dogs. But anyway...I had to get them a cup of water and they drank the WHOLE thing. I just couldn't believe how much water the consumed! Lina got most of it...she doesn't know how to share at all . I had to pull the cup away from her to let Boss have some too.

Then we went home. Where they played with my brother and Gaige for a while, before being taken back home because they ran off and REFUSED to come to me when called. I hate that!!

Overall it was a good "mommy & puppy" day. I took some pictures. :)

What are you doing mom?

That's enough, no more pictures please.

I'm such a cutie!

Mmmm...Ice cream!

Give me that duck Dustin!!

Here mommy, keep it away from Dustin, he doesn't know how to share any better than I do!

Nevermind...I'll just kill it.

These I found at Wal-Mart today also lol. They are designer puppy pads for the spoiled pup!

Oh my ... some people are so infuriating. That just reminds me of one time I was at my hair salon, and one of the girls saw Yoshi and said "that's what I want, except a teacup" >_< So I went on to tell her all the usual teacup stuff, and how they're usually runts and can be unhealthy if they're too small, and she was like "I don't care if it's not as healthy, that's the size I want" ... and also "I don't care if they charge me twice as much for a runt, it's what I want". She basically didn't care, it was all about size *screaming inside* She also refused to believe that teacup wasn't a proper term. She was saying that everyone uses it and that the breeders use it so it must be real.

Grrr.

Cute pictures though. Yoshi *loves* ice cream ... especially dairy queen's soft serve vanilla. She goes crazy when we pull up to the drive through window because she knows she's getting some. I usually get her a kiddie cone, it'll last her three or four days cuz I'll save it at home in the freezer then thaw it out in the fridge. Hehe. Of course, I don't give her ice cream often, and only teeny amounts at a time.

aw i loved your pics! your babies are beautiful. i bet the icecream was a fun treat :) its sad how ignorant some people are. how frustrating :x i bought those pads once! theyre SO cute! they have really cute pictures on them of a dog with a firehidrant and they're colored like a khaki camelish color. it was a nice change to look down and not see the usual boring blue and white pads. last time i went they didnt have them though.

People are VERY frustrating..but I usually save my breath these days. It's a waste of good oxygen and energy.

I thought about buying those pads the last time I saw them but didn't. They do look cute though lol.

Petsmart is obviously going to push the Nutro, which they sell, over the Chicken Soup brand.

Your pictures are adorable! Looks like you all had a fun time today! :D

I figured they'd push the products they sell..but to tell me that it's a better brand than Chicken Soup which is a LIE...that's not right.

We did have a good time :). I love takin' my babies out. Boss is getting a little better with people. I hope he can eventually go out without barking at everyone that comes near him.
