Chloe is probably going to get spayed next month. The vet told me to wait and see when her canine teeth start to come in since those are the baby teeth that are most often retained. That way we can do the spay and pull those baby teeth at the same time. This may be a stupid question, but where will her adult teeth come in if the baby teeth don't fall out? Or is that something that is different for every dog? I can feel a tooth coming in behind her baby canine. Where it will be next to the canine like a normal tooth would be. I was wondering of this is her adult canine coming in.

If the adult tooth has erupted, then get that baby tooth pulled and out of there during the spay!

We were going to get Max's pulled when he was neutered but his anaesthetic became unstable so they had to bring him round before they had chance to pull them.

He's about 15 months old now and his baby teeth aren't showing any sign of loosening - does anyone know what's the longest I should leave it before taking him back to get them done? (sorry for hijacking the thread!)

Does he have baby teeth and adult teeth? Like a double row? If so, you can have the baby teeth pulled anytime. If his adult teeth have NOT come in yet, and all he has are baby teeth, then go to a dental specialist. Get x-rays of his mouth and an opinion on whether the adult teeth are up in the gum and if they are going to come down. Sometimes they don't.

Chi's have notoriously bad teeth. Brody only has 21 teeth. They are supposed to have 42. Their mouths are just too small. The teeth aren't firmly rooted.

I would only pull baby teeth out if you have adult teeth coming in or already in.

No he doesn't have a double row, as far as I'm aware he just has 1 baby tooth on each side. I have taken a pic so you can see (sorry it's a bit blurred but hopefully you will get the gist). I'm not sure what he has at the bottom as I can't get in his mouth to see properly..
