~Scary Site!~

I went to this very frightning site about how chis who are 3-4 ibs are to fragile to keep and all these other horrible worrying things. I know different sites have different information and different sources and answers but I'm a tad scared for Snap after all these things they listed that could go wrong. Really I just need comfort cuz I would never want anything bad to happen to my baby. I'm only thirteen and they said kids under 15 shouldn't own chis because they are so fragile. However I'm perfectly aware of this seeing as I've read up about chis and would never abuse or handle chis too much. I'm still very worried that something bad might happen to Snap :( Sorry if this sounds stupid but I get very woorysome!!

I have read the same things as you have. And yes the smaller the Chi the more rick there is but if you are aware of what could go wrong as it sounds like you do then I think things should be fine. If you notice something that isn't right take your chi straight to the vet, don't take chances.
I wouldn't worry about your age if you are a responsible person.

I have a 12 year old daughter and she does good withim after she stepped on him twice when he first went on the floor// but she didn't hurt him thank god...

yes there are some things that could happen to a chihuahuha but If you take precautions like don't let him jump from high places and don't walk him with a collar and stuff like that then he and you should be fine..
Thank you both so much. This helps ease my mind a bit. My niece is seven and wants to hold him but I havn't let her yet in fear of what she might do. I never let anyone alone iwth my chi and I take a lot of my time watching him. He's a gift and I'd feel awful if I ever hurt him

I'm a VERY cautious person, so I guess that is good when you have a dog of the toy group. :)
it would be ok if you let your niece hold him while sitting on the floor.. just teach her how to be careful and loving to him and they should do fine...

there are people who have small children adn chis and do great...

Yeah That woudl work. Her mother has abig thing for smaller dogs and Emily, that's her name, has always been good and careful with them. But worry always comes up with little children around small dogs. Snap gets along great with my mutt, Ally. Hopefully my future chi, Cha Chi, will be the same way.
I've been a chi mommy since I was 6 years old myself. You don't seem like the kind of person who would hurt your baby. You're gonna be fine. Sometimes these sites are too general to be of any use to the public. I'm sorry it's gotten you all upset and worried. You and your baby are gonna be just fine.

Aww^^ Thanks! It's okay about the worry thing, I realized there are always going to be things you worry about, you just have to have faith and in the chi case be pretty cautious :D
I have a three year old and I just watch them like a hawk when they interact with each other and keep reminding him Hershey is not a toy she is delicate like a baby. That's the way to do it with small children.
i would never leave my chi's unsupervised with small children . but when thaught how to handle a chi i don't see why they could not be good for them .
paris is very delicate (and vienna too ) i handle them with care ...but they are not made of foam :D
i think you will be very responsible

kisses nat
you will be fine you seem extrememly mature for your age I never guessed you were thirteen lol I thought you were an adult

me too!

you'll be just fine, you know what could happen and now you can take the steps to prevent them from happening. and just be extra careful. i have a very tiny little girl and a 5 year old daughter. i taught her before i even brought chiwi home that she is like glass and you have to be careful with her.
Lol, thanks gals^^ I'm learning not to be so caught up in all the bad things that could happen and just have a good time :D Snappy and I are going shopping today for kennels and other items so I'm real excited for that. Thanks for all the advice, Snap sends his little hugs, lol.
