Hello,

This problem is making leaving the house miserable. I have 3 little guys. Two are Poms, one is a chi-pom. All have been crate trained, since they were pups. My Poms sleep at the foot of our bed at night and the chi-pom sleeps in his crate at night. The problem is that the Poms have separation anxiety. They will cry, wimper, bark and pant when we go to put them in their crates and even after we leave the house. I have tried a number of things, exercised them for 2 hours before we leave, behavior modification (trying to teach and reward them to stay extended periods in the crates), etc., etc. Nothing seems to work, they can be totally exhausted and they still are doing the above. I've been all over the internet and I do not want to put my guys on non-natural alternatives.

So, I would like to try natural separation anxiety meds. I tried to read some of the separation anxiety posts and was not sure what natural remedies anyone has found that really work and what the dosages are.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried an ex pen instead of crating them separately?
