My grandson has been very ill of late and on this day he could not make
it through the school day. He falls asleep on my futon often as he
has little energy. Noah will be seeing a specialist soon that comes up
from Seattle to the hospital in Anchorage.
ItZy seems to know when he needs rest and tries to comfort him.
On this day she wanted to be as close as possible. Just after these pictures
I had to take him to get IV fluids (three bags) and antibiotics with pain meds.

I walked in to find them sleeping with her in this position. When he woke up
he said she forced herself under his neck. I think these are precious.

I honestly believe that chis can sense when we are not well. It looks to me that she is trying to comfort him.

Hope you are able to find out soon what it is that is making him ill.

I have struggled with Migraines for years and my Milos behavior totally changes when I have one start to come on. I have had them so bad that I will spend 2-3 days in my bedroom. Milo will not leave me when I am down with a migraine or ill. My previous chi, Ricky would do the same thing.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for Noah. If the Dr. does not make it here soon enough we will fly Noah to him in Seattle.

ItZy definately knows when one of us is not doing well. It just amazes me that she can sense so much at such a young age. She has exhibited the same sweet temperment when I am sick.

I know he is comforted by her as he is calm when he is here even when there is so much pain.

awww, Itzy giving some love and comfort. Great pictures, loving little girl. I hope that your grandson is well soon enough. Are there any ideas as to what he has?

Not to sound silly but has he had any splinters recently? My son had a splinter when he was 7 and he got so ill that they thought he had leukemia...seriously. He was in the hospital for 6 days. It ended up being a severe infection from a tiny little splinter he got in his finger. It traveled through his whole body swelling up all his joints, he could not eat, had sores in his mouth. Sheets on the bed could not even touch his skin w/o him screaming in pain. It is possible that that infection could have killed him. I would have never thought a tiny little splinter could cause so much.

I will keep you grandson in my prayers.

Thank You Traci,
Actually he does have an infection....you do not sound silly at all. They
found that finally after a scan on his tummy. His Lymph glands in
his belly were greatly enlarged. He was given a big dose of antibiotics
again last week in the IV and now is taking it orally. The Dr.'s believe something is
causing his immune system to be attacked by the infection, second to what is wrong.
He had surgery back in April and I was worried he may have gottten a Staph infection.
His symptoms have varied and just before the second start of antibiotics he also
could not be touched. His legs hurt so bad.
If he does go into hospital it will be in Anchorage or Seattle. At this time he is on
high dose of the antibiotics so symptoms are lessened. If it gets worse before the
specialist gets here we won't wait a minute to fly him to Anchorage then Seattle.
The doctors here do not have the expertise to figure it out. We know what is not wrong but,
they cannot pinpoint the cause of secondary infection. I am going to tell
my daughter what you said here, there is always room for others experiences to
get to the bottom of things. My daughter has been pro-active in
getting things done for him...Dr.'s are just not quick enough for us.
He has had blood drawn on three different occasions and scans & xray's
all over his body.
Thank you for your thoughts prayers.

Thank you all for your thoughts warm wishes and prayers for Noah. I had intended this thread to be about ItZy and the calm she already brings to a sick child. I had heard that Chihuahua's were known to do that. You have all shown such concern for my grandson and I appreciate that so much...it touches my heart. Thank You
