Miya has finally mastered where she is to go potty at. She goes to the bathroom on her pad everytime, however....she sometimes goes around the pad, to the side. ya know? We have a UGO DOG (google it), but we were finding that she was peeing ON and AROUND the UGO DOG. She's still doing it, so we put 2 more extra pads around her area, which she uses, but...dang..how can we get her to just use her UGODOG?

That's a pretty nifty contraption I'm gonna have to get me one those for Charlie baby. I'd like to get him house trained evèntually but that's really going to depend on how big he gets. He certinaly still very tiny and we have allot of birds of prey. So If he doesn't get to at least the size of TC (4 lbs) then he will be using the puppy pad always. He can go outside with me during the warmer months but I'm not going to be standing out in the wind, pouring rain and 2 ft of snow waiting for him to do his business. And I'm pretty sure he would prefer to use the puppy pad during that kind of weather as well

Try putting a USED pad on top of the Ugo Dog for a week. Then move it to under the grates for a week and by the end of that, you should be able to stop using pads altogether. You could try getting some fake grass from a retailer, but I find that stuff a pain in the neck to keep odour free and always clean. In fact, I think I'll leave the grass component out on the deck for them to use (I can simply hose it) and bring the plastic base part inside because you can then always see when it needs cleaning.

I use 2 pads at a time next to eachother. My two sometimes get a bot over excited with their little dance and go off the edge so I found having 2 pads minimized this. Also with 2 dogs the one pad was getting too dirty by the time I got home from a work day and they were going closer to the edge to get a clean spot and sometimes going over. If having multiple pads means she gets it right 100% of the time I would go for that rather than the alternative just to have the one spot.

I have 2 pads that stick out a about 1ft of the perimeter of the UGODOG. She still chooses to pee on the outside though. Sometimes she uses her thing, but many time she wont. I will try the your ideas and hope for a change!!! She's so stubborn lol but i love her.

If it was me, I would trim the pads to fit the UgoDog's dimensions exactly so she has to step up, on and go!

I use the Ugodog and love it. Zoey will pee on it but likes to poo outside. Chloe will poo on it but likes to pee on her pad in her x pen. I keep pads on the floor in her x pen. I would just keep giving positive reinforcement when she goes on the Ugodog. I love it as they dont get pee on their feet.

Is there a way you can just put some stuff around it basically to block her from walking there? Even if its just something decorative, or a small end table or anything. Even setting a laundry basket temporarily. If she's 'sometimes' using the Ugo, but not always; hopefully if you eliminate her other option from even existing by setting something there, you'll get her used to the routine of only using it. By setting pads on the perimeter it's encouraging her to use it. Instead just put something up that she's used to seeing (so it wont scare her, some dogs are that sensitive lol) and rearrange it so that she cannot access either side/edge. Eventually once she's caught on you can put your things back in place, slowly lol.

Ugh, Odie's an edge pee-er. She won't pee anywhere but her pad (except for outside of course), which is great, but she pees RIGHT on the edge, so it's basically on the floor too. Not so bad because we have linoleum flooring where the pad is, but still annoying. The interesting thing is that when we got a puppy patch fake grass system, she wouldn't miss. We had to ditch that idea though, as I'm not a fan of spraying dog urine off in my shower. Anyway, I think the only way to correct the problem (in our case anyway), is to put something around the pad (or ugodog), so that they don't have the choice of peeing around it. I'm going to try making a little fence type thing when I have some time and see if that changes anything.

I have a pad holder with three sides, I thought that would eliminate my problems of them missing the pad. And it worked quite well except the male dogs like peeing in the very end of the side wall, which meant pee on the floor. And now the puppies will pee on the pad in the holder, but would poo next to it. So I have the holder and a pad next to it for the poo. *sigh* And I had just had everyone outside trained before the puppies and Pepe moved in, now it's back to square one.
