The adoption was made final today and she is now with us. But she is so scared and she is whining for her foster mommy and I feel so bad. She does not feel good either. She was spayed 2 days ago, had puppy vaccinations yesterday and has been held by too many people, had a 3 hour car trip today and she yelps when I try to pick her up. I want to hold and comfort her, but her tummy seems really sore plus she is afraid of me and seems lethargic .She did eat a little kibble and I put water in it so she would stay hydrated. and she likes her little treats too. Worry as I do, I feel so bad for her...:(
My other chi is excited to visit and play with her, but I have somewhat isolated the new puppy and put her in a playpen for now to keep her quiet. She is right in front of where I sit in the livingroom so she can see everything.
I would think that would be the best thing to do until she feels better. She has an appt. to see vet at 8:30 in the morning to be checked out real good.
Here are some pics of her although you can see she is not a real happy puppy right now and she is a little thin, but bless her heart she has been through a lot and we will give her lots of love....We named her Lulubelle (LuLu):p

shes beautiful Dazy Mae. I think its a great idea that you have her where she can see everything. That way she gets introduced to all her suroundings and she isn't overwhelmed. i hope she starts feeling better and me and nadia are sending lots and lots of love, hugs, and kisses her way.

Thanks so much....
I'm also worried because she has not done a pee-pee since 3:00 this afternoon. She has eaten fairly good (had to hand feed her) and drank water so maybe it is because she is so nervous and uncomfortable? I let her out of the cage but she just sits there and won't move and looks at me like I am the devil! ...I even put her on the pee pad and I tryed taking her outside on our little grass area.
I will have them also check for a bladder infection tommorrow too.
Its gonna be long night.

Chi's have such tender little hearts, and though hers may be a little troubled right now, I just know it won't be long before she realizes that you are her forever Mommy and she'll give her heart to you! Once she's feeling better I'll bet spending time with your other little one will lift her spirits as well! She is really beautiful and she has a wonderful Mommy! I'll be looking forward to hear how she progresses!

She has been through alot! Poor thing. She is so cute. Soon she will realize that she has a wonderful home and start her adjustment. It may take her awhile but I know you will be patient and understanding with her. I'm sure she will adapt and love you and her new little sister! Congrats on your new addition!! :)

Aww yay you got her!
Try not to worry too much, she will sense that you are troubled and get more anxious.
It isn't unusual for dogs to behave extremely weirdly during a transition such as not eating moving, pottying etc. Just give her some time to get used to the new place and be as gentle and understanding as you can about giving her time to adjust. She's only been with you a few hours, it can take days before she even begins to open up, but I'm sure with patience you'll have a beautiful new companion. How long had she been with her foster family?

Awww, sounds like she's just going through alot of changes all at once, so she's probably overwhelmed. A new home is alot to take in, but having the vaccinations and surgery probably has taken a toll on her little body as well. Just give her some time, and I'm sure she'll warm up to you in no time. It's like when you're not feeling well, the last thing you want to do is socialize with people. I'm sure once she's feeling better, she'll want to explore her new environment, come check you out, and play with her new pal as well. Maybe you could try to give her some chicken and rice, just some comfort food while she's getting better. Just a thought...best of luck with your new baby! I'm so excited for you. You'll find that having two is twice the joy and fun!

She had been in a nasty shelter for 2 weeks and then her foster mommy has had her since Mid November.
