Wow its been time since i posted a thread, so hi all!!!.

Kye has been being sick for the past couple of days now, only once or twice, and not everyday, but its yellow and its staining my cream carpet!!!!.

No, the carpet aside i am a little concerned, he doesnt seem to be any different and we've not changed his food, so im wondering if maybe he's eaten fluff or something that he shouldnt.

Should i be worried??? (well i am but you know what i mean!!)

Thanks

Well the yellow is tummy bile...if it's a yellow foamy kinda thing.
He could have a mild flulike virus or he may have gotten into something that made his tummy sour. Have you noticed him drinking and eatting?
You need to make sure he's not dehydrating.
If he is not dehydrated and he is still not showing any other signs of sickness no runny stool, no seeming to tired or weak to play, then you can try a few things at home...first you need to call your vet or any vet and get Kaolin Pectin and Albon. Kaolin Pactin is like Kaopectate for humans...it easys tummy pains and iratations...he gets....1/4 teaspoon every 6 hours.
And Albon is an antibiotic for tummy disorders- such as Cocidia....he gets...1/2 teaspoon the first day and 1/4 teaspoon every day after that for 10 days.
MAKE SURE IF YOU START AN ANTIBIOTIC YOU FINISH IT.
If this treatment does nothing for him or he gets worse then go to the vet and tell them how he's been being treated so they don't try the same thing again...that will be the fisrt treatment any vet uses.

Our big dog throws up stomach bile if she's hungry. Like if we are late feeding the girls breakfast, she'll throw up. Is your pup's eating schedule the same?

Totally weird I've never had a single Chi adult or puppy throw up from hunger...I've had them do it from sickness..but I have food out 24/7 here so there's no hunger unless they decide not to eat on their own.

My sister has a big mixed breed dog who throws up bile also if he's not fed often enough. And it's happened a few times in the past with my chi and when I took him to the vet, they couldn't find anything wrong with him...so the only thing I can figure out is that maybe it's the same cause... i.e. his stomach acids building up between meals...

Keep track of when your dog throws up, and if it's around the same time every time, (or the same length from when he's eaten last) then it might very well be from going too long between meals and the stomach acids building up. Just to be safe though, if I were you I'd probably make a vet appointment to rule out any other causes. If there haven't been any changes with his feeding schedule, then it seems odd that he would suddenly start this.

Also make sure he's getting enough water to make up for the fluid he's losing, small dogs can dehydrate quickly.

Its funny you should mention that they are sick if they are hungaryt as in the middle of the night the other night he was crying to get out of the bedroom, then he got back in bed and an hour or so after he threw up - so maybe it is becaus ehe was hungary.

Other than that his food is left out 24/7 so not sure.

He was fine yesterday!.

I'll keep an eye on him, but i dont think he is ill.

Thanks for your replies!!

My Carlos did the same thing last night, vomited 3 times and now he seems fine. I do know if they vomit once in a while there is not much to worrie about but if it's everyday or several times in the same day, then there is cause to worrie. Oh BTW KYE is so very handsome!!!

dogs CAN suffer what would best be described as heartburn/acid reflux and it can maek them throw up the yellow bile...
it usually happens if theyve got an empty stomach...try giving him some egg or cheese as treats during the day, dairy tends to calm any kind of acid reflux!

lol, i leartn it by myself...i had bad acid reflux one day and nothign would help untill i had a glass of milk, within 5 minutes the heartburn was gone...
talked to my doc and he said it was correct, then when my aunts dog started throwing up bile (he was on 2 feedings a day) her vet explained dogs can get the equivalent of acid reflux and that dairy would calm it down and that she should space the meals out more...
cool huh?!
