Socializing

When you hand her to someone, always hand the "back end" first. The pup knows it's OK to relax and not "guard". Also, you want her to be social but not to allow others to pick her up. (Sometimes people just don't know how to hold our babies.) I would probably hold her and allow others to pet but not to hold her.

Silly Mom, I wasn't criticizing...

I know you are a responsible Chi person. (I won't say "owner" because sometimes I feel they own us, not us them!)

We can socialize our Chi's, teach them to respond in the right way (not snapping, etc.) but they might still be leery/scared of some people or some places. For instance, Dobbie has mixed feelings about PetSmart. He knows it is an outing (which he enjoys) but all the dogs and people make him a little scared. While we're there, I push the cart with one hand and keep rubbing his back with the other, lol.
