For Christmas, I went with my family to North Carolina. It was such a lovely place, green and had lots of nice trees and yards. I was in the car for about 16 hours. Mommy would walk me when we made stops since the weather was nice. It was the longest ride of my life and probably always will be. I was happy to go though because I was with my mommy and daddy, and I'd rather be with them than anywhere else. They can't always take me places. I got to meet a human baby for the first time there at my uncle's house. I got a bit jealous at first, but was alright after a while. I got to sit with the baby and watched over him a bit, and he even tried to pet me a couple of times. I kissed him a few times. He could really be noisy sometimes.
I went to a Christmas party with a full house of people and got chased around by a young girl all night. All those people made me nervous, so mommy picked me up and let me stay in her arms for most of the night and daddy too. I felt better being able to see everyone and not having to dodge them. I'm not a big fan of dressing up, but once I had my outfit on I felt really pretty. (See attached pic.) That was a long night, but it was nice to eat some fresh rice and meat.
We went back home a day later, another long car ride. Mommy said I did really well and boy was I glad to be home in my quiet house again. No blaring loud music, no crazy kids trying to chase me, and no crying baby.[/FONT]

I discovered what snow was this month. I think I would like it more if it wasn't so cold. It's white, light, and fluffy, and tastes good on my tongue.
I'm 8 months old now and still have some teeth to lose. I'm barking more, which isn't making my family happy...but I'm still a happy little girl.

Learning New Things

I'm trying to learn how to howl. It looks like fun, but I can't quite get the hang of it.
Daddy was playing a harmonica and dancing in front of me and I barked along happily. I'm not sure if that counts for singing, but I'm sure I'll get it one of these days.

I now know when to lick and not lick my family. I was starting to think they didn't want me to lick them, but it was just they didn't want me to do that all the time.
I was licking them A LOT, hehe.

I love my family and cuddling up with them.

Snow Revisited

Daddy opened the kitchen door. It had been snowing all day and cold. First he let me sniff it and lick it. Then he let me walk out into it. Woo! It was really cold, but then I realized hey I can walk in this stuff! If my daddy hadn't caught me, I would have run to see if there were any other dogs out and about. Thankfully he did. I don't think I would have gotten too far before being a frozen little doggie.
After he put me back in the kitchen, I was really glad to be home and warm. My mommy bundled me up in a blanket, ahhhhh.

Maturing and Learning

It's been a while since I said anything, but a lot has happened since the snow fell.

My family put in a doggy door for me, but the door was hard plastic and I didn't like it. It scared me, came down too fast and I almost got caught in it. Thankfully Daddy was there to save me.

I've learned how to howl, am learning to speak, and am successfully using the new doggy door. It has a plastic flap which is easier for me to go through and not as scary. I'm happy to use it. I don't like leaving "messes" even on my pads. At least now I can go outside in private and get away from it when I'm done. It doesn't stay around all smelly...*rarf*

My snaggle-teeth finally fell out! I had this sideways baby tooth in my mouth for like 3 months and it wouldn't fall out no matter how loose it got. It's finally out now and it doesn't hurt when Mommy brushes my teeth anymore. I'm still not a big fan of that though. It feels weird.

My Mommy put flea meds on me for the first time to protect me when we take walks or go to the park. She's happy because it's all-natural stuff. I'm happy because it doesn't bug me and smells nice.
I met some dogs in the park, but I wasn't playing nice so they didn't want to hang with me. I'm not used to other dogs, so that's something I need to learn.

I love taking walks and hope the weather will be nice again soon. :daisy:
Smelling the trees, flowers, and grass is so much fun. Sometimes we'll go on a family walk. I can't wait for it to be warm again.
