Hi again. I guess Im full of questions tonight. haha Ok, I got Zoe spayed last month...because she HAD to be. She wasnt healing right from having her puppies. Now, we still have 1 female(Chi Chi) and Ace. One of them has to be fixed, because I dont want Chi Chi having puppies. I really cant afford to get BOTH of them fixed. I had originally planned on getting Ace neutered....but now I dont know what I want to do. I thought about getting Chi Chi spayed and let that be it. I know its cheaper to get one neutered than spayed, but I dont know which one I want to do. What do yall think? I have heard that it doesnt make males as hyper when you get them fixed...but I dont know. I have never had a MALE chihuahua, so Im clueless....anything would be helpful :) Thanks!

I would defiantly neuter Ace.
Don’t forget that right now he is a puppy…bat when he will ne older, there is a lot of chances that eh will start to mark.
And it’s really suck…believe me, I have male that mark everywhere and our house stinky from his pee…

That's a tough one...it would be good to neuter Ace so he doesn't mark, but it would also be good to get Chi Chi fixed so she won't go into heat!
Since Ace is only 2 months old right now, maybe you could get Chi Chi fixed now, and then save up money for Ace to get neutered later?

I think I agree with Katie. I've never had a female go into heat, so I can't say from experience what its like, but it doesn't sound like much fun to me! We didn't have Stewie neutered till he was 9 months old and the only time he marks is on the trees & bushes outside (well, except for the artificial tree he peed on last night! But I guess it was a tree in a sense!) And since Ace is only 2 months that would still give you several months to save up for it, if you get Chi Chi spayed now.

i would agree with katie, get chi chi fixed now, shes currently at highest risk for cancer, (the more heats they go through the higher the risk)
with Ace being so young (most vets will not fix a toy breed before 6mths, and i personally wouldnt risk it younger than 6mths but even up to 8 months is a normal for toy breed neuter) by getting chi chi spayed now it gives you some months to save for ace's neuter a couple of months down the line.

id also contact your local shelters and see if theres a low cost spay/neuter program in your area!

Thanks guys! I know I wont be able to get Ace neutered until he is 6 mths. So maybe I can save up and get them both fixed like you all said. The heat cycles are NOT fun. We've been through it with both Zoe and Chi Chi. I'll just have to talk it over with my hubby and see what he says. Thanks again!
