I wrote on here a while back about Clio barking at people and at other dogs whenever we go anywhere....Especially dogs even if she hears another dogs nails on the ground......

OK so iv tried putting her down if she was up and iv tried walking in the opposite direction like victoria stilwell does (Its me or the dog) trainer shes amazing.....iv used some of her techniques on my other dogs and it has worked straight away....
Unfortunately i dont have anyone that has a friendly dog that lives near that i could ask to walk past like she does on her show....

anyone any ideas ???
Im kinda desperate i used to love bringing her with me everywhere but now its very embarrassing ..... she just barks and barks and barks and there is no controlling it ......iv tried making really loud sounds to distract her and that doesnt work either lol

anything else would be helpfull ill try anything i love her and shes only one i cant leave this go on its even hard to walk her around the block cause if i see another dog in the distance now i have to cross the street or turn around and walk backwards so she dont see them

I have five dogs and i used to be able to walk them all together no problems at all...
Now because clio has started this barking thing i have to walk them separate walk two dogs then walk the other three
because once she goes off the rest go off now and its just madness five dogs barking and howling .....

Sherri, Chihuahuaslove me had a problem with her female barking non stop, I'm not sure if she'll see this thread but she would probably have some good suggestions for you.
I'm no help as I don't have barkers.

Did you try spraying her directly in the face? You have to use it on stream, not spray. It didn't do much for Angel until I got him right in the face! NOw if he sees me reach for it, he stops! It doesn't hurt them.

I know someone who did the citronella collar on a bigger dog and it worked almost immediately!

When I'm out with Angel, if he starts to bark, I get straight in front of him, put him in a sit, make him look at me, I say "no bark" , holding a treat in my hand and when he is quiet and still looking at me, I treat him. It doesn't always work because my timing is off! But I keep trying!

Check out Emily Larlham. I am viewing her training videos when I get a chance. I do a ton of searching for help with Angel. I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to accomplish much until I get his total, undivided attention! So that is my first goal, to keep his eyes focused on me!

Victoria Stillwell is very entertaining. I like her! But what we see on tv and videos is unrealistic! We don't all have the tools and people at our disposal like she does! I, too, don't have friends that can come to my house and help me with stuff like she shows!

I feel for you! I am trying to make Angel more friendly and less bitey. Hahaha! He has no other people or dogs to socialize with. It's pretty much myself, hubby, and Susie, our golden. There's the occasional acquaint enhance of ours, our boys come ver once a week, but no others he can safely interact with!

It's hard, but, I think she will come around! How old is she? They do get calmer with age! I just ordered. One of those cd's that is supposed to calm your dog with music! I am anxious to try it!

Good luck! Someone will come up with something at will work for you!

Does she ever get the chance to interact with other dogs off leash?

My lab, Maggie, is very leash reactive with other dogs, and very fence reactive with dogs and people. I noticed that after I started taking her to the dog park, where she could interact with other dogs and see that they weren't all out to get her (or me, or Stella - that's really when this started, tbh) she has calmed down quite a bit around other dogs, and is now able to use ignore techniques to show her discomfort. She is even now able to break herself away from the crazy little neighbor dogs (a poodle and a pomeranian) who bark continually and get her riled up, even at close range. It becomes even easier when she gets a good amount of exercise, even if it's just ball in the yard.
