We are getting this with our puppy Murphy who is 5 months old...I must point out he only does it around me and not my girlfriend. Its definitely clear he much prefers my girlfriend and gets very excited seeing her and is always a little wary around me. My girlfriend tends to be soft with him thou and I have made points that I don't want him sleeping in/on our bed. He currently sleeps under the bed after I gave into my girlfriend. I originally had him outside the bedroom but he wined and barked. The thing is, he can now jump on the bed without much effort and I do tell him off saying 'down' He is getting better & doesn't try it as much. We have also decided if we are eating food on our laps at the sofas then he should be on the floor as before he was trying to stick his head in our food. Again he is being very good at picking it up.

As mentioned the only real problem is the submissive peeing. I have read this is because he sees me as the pack leader/alpha male which is fine but id rather he didn't pee everywhere. I have tried to be very aware of my body language and quick movements and even picking him up but he still does it. I can be giving him so much attention then ill go off and do something and the slight movement making him do a bit.

Any advice would be great...Other than this he is a great little dog and we love having him around.

I dont want him scared of me

It can be an alpha dog thing that can take a long time to fix. You need to ignore him for a while until walking by him doesn't make him pee,

Then nothing but positive should help him not be afraid when you get close to him. Also socialise the puppy with many other men or he may think all men are bad.
