My retired friends have just moved into a mobile home park. They specifically checked to make sure that dogs were welcomed. After moving in and signing all the papers, they were informed that the management just passed a rule that all dogs had to be muzzled while walking on the park grounds. My friends are very upset about this sudden change in dog policy, so I offered to help them find a solution.
Their beloved baby, Sprite, weighs 4 lbs when he's at his heaviest. His muzzle is about 1 1/4 inch long, and about 3.5 in circumference. I can't find a basket muzzle small enough to fit the adorable little guy. Since it gets quite warm there in the summers, we need a basket muzzle rather than one that keeps his mouth closed so he can't pant or take a drink.
I'm sure that other Chihuahua Parents have figured out what works with their littlest ones. Please, can you refer me to a model that will stay on his face and not be too big? Even the vet's smallest muzzle was so big on Sprite that the vet could examine his mouth and check his teeth! And then, with one determined swipe of a paw, he pulled it off and looked very smug about that. What a surprise, right?
Thank you so much for your recommendations.
