I couldn't find a thunder vest, but I can stay home and hold my baby. Does anyone have any other suggestions for making fireworks less awful?

By the way, Happy new year, everybody.

Music! Sometimes, you can be too empathetic! Make sure you are calm. Make each 'boom' something to look forward too! A treat after each boom is good. IF they will eat. If their fear is too much and they won't eat; you can offer them a quiet, dark place to hunker down. A closet? The bathroom? Whatever your dog likes--his kennel? If he 'hides' and seems really upset, then you can pick 'em up and cuddle. My two seem to tolerate fire works OK, but add in a thunderstorm, and it undid one of mine! Found her shaking under the dining room table! Happy New Year to all.

We wound up in a blanket nest for Laurel's first thunderstorm. She was a trooper.

I ask a lot of this dog and she doesn't ask very much of me.
