Hi all! I have a question. Do your adult chi's like toys? As puppies my dogs entertained themselves with chew toys, soft and hard, played hard. Now as 4,7, and 10 they don't care about the toys. I have LOADS of toys that sit in their place all day. Dogs sleep much of the day, rising for meal times, and occasional play between the 4 and 7 year old. The 10 year old has heart/trachea problems and is not interested. Any ideas, or are they just uninterested?

Salsi loves her toys but she is a mix so I'm not sure if that is coming from the breed she is mixed with. Jackson very rarely plays with toys. He always seems kind of scared or unsure of them. I got him as an adult so maybe as a puppy he didn't have toys and so now isn't sure what they are or what to do with them.

Dorothy's fave toy is a miniature Care Bear. It has a squeaker in it that she has squeaked until now it only clicks when she chews on it. She loves that thing. At night she goes looking for it so she can take it to bed. Silly dog!

In our household it is the boys who love the toys, the girls not so much. (Although Mouse has her moments)
Small stuffed toys and rope tuggies are the favourites, they like toys they can 'kill'.
Jasper is the only one who plays with hard chew toys, he likes things he can carry.
They play more with each other though, I do wonder if single dogs play with toys more because they don't have canine company? All of ours play chase and rough and tumble (favourite game being wrestling AKA 'bitey face') on a daily basis (except Delilah, she only joins in on her terms because she is a Diva lol)

Manny isn't one for toys much either, though he does have his moments. Now, he DOES have 2 little stuffed squeaky toys (a frog and a lion) that he absolutely adores, and when he's excited to see either my husband or me after we come home for work he will run and find them to carry around. He also has to have them both for bed time, and will have to round them up and make sure to tuck them under the covers before he crawls under himself. I can't tell you how many times I've rolled over on one of them in the middle of the night, which of course causes them to squeak, and scares me half to death! LOL!
Other than that, he's not much of a toy player....he also doesn't like to chew much either so I have a basket full of toys and bones that he rarely ever gets into. I've had him since he was 6 weeks old, and I've always tried to get him to play with toys, but he's just never really been much into it. He'd rather snuggle, which is okay with me too. :)

Mickey didn't play with toys AT ALL, 'till we got Piper. Then they both played with toys. After we got Peanut they all play with toys all the time and the house is covered. You never know where you'll find a toy around the house now.I did use Maddilovesdogs suggestion of sleeping with the toys so they got our scent. That really increased their value.
