Tucker will be 9 weeks old on Tuesday. Can y'all tell me the best training to start with with him? Right now the problem I see is the biting while playing with my two boys. What I'm doing is making them either get up & not play with him or give him his toy to show him what he can bite on.

That's exactly what you should be doing.

Basically they are playing in the only way puppies know how to, with each other so why would they think they need to play differently with their people.

It won't work with young kids, they don't have the strong, angry voice for it, but I used to growl "NO!!!" very loudly and hold up the palm of my hand like a Policeman stops traffic. Once or twice (as with everything) they got the hang of it & realised it was a no, no! Nowadays if I say "No!" in a loud stern voice, they'll stop in mid-air if that's where they are lol.

I would also teach them to sit using treats and then train your boys to participate by doing the same thing so they learn to respect the boys and it will stop them from biting as they focus on the treat.

At the end of the day though, don't expect miracles and for it to stop until puppyhood is behind them because basically they don't have any other way of playing, as we use our arms to wrestle, play & fend off, they use their mouth which happens to contain a bunch of sharp pins :)

Thanks!! I know it'll take time for him to learn these things. I'm going to do short training sessions with him daily while my boys are at school. Then once his shots are done I do plan on taking him to an obedience class.
