I LOVE the look of the hair sticking out all around a long haired chihuahuas ears.I was just wondering ,how many of you trim it around the edges of there ears and why do you,do you just like it better or is there other reasons? Both ways are pretty.:)

I for one, trim the hair around the ears. I just think it looks better trimmed. But, it's really what YOU want! I have a short trim on Zarita for the summer. It is SO warm here and more hot weather to come! She looks like a teddy bear! I'm letting it grow out and next trim will be just the underparts so she can feel the cool tile! Sue

Benny had the longest ear fringe I have ever seen. A couple of years ago he got something sticky in one of them so I decided I would "trim" his fringe to remove it. Sadly, his fringe never grew back. Here is a "before" pic.

I prefer the natural look, even if it does mean I end up trying to pull out knots on a daily basis!
Hannah has weird ear fringes that she gets to keep coz they amuse me!:D (she is a mini daxie x LH chi and for some reason has about a 2in wide section of really long ear fringe that looks totally random!).

I don't trim the fringe. I like the look. Besides my baby girl is only one year old, still has lots of fringe growing to do, haha. :)

The one thing that I MUST always trim is the feathers on her paws, I prefer the neat look.
